It still takes several days to both install and demolish the haunt - parts of it do start coming down after trick-or-treat hours end, but most of the structure remains until at least the following day.

Hopefully next year we will be replacing the wood floorboards of the porch - they're original to the house's construction in 1991, and the front step was already partially-dismantled to rescue the kittens earlier this year.

A lighting rig, assorted parts and trash bags containing what was the inner-enclosure, greenery, and ground effects await storage or disposal.

Yesterday, a transformer blew and left us without electric for 5 1/2 hours. Crews worked into the night getting us back on line. Actually if this had to happen the timing was great.

The sun was out all day and we had no wind. Our inside temps only dropped about 10 degrees. And this happened between the storms.

The rise comes after the fall.

As much shit as I have for this - it all nicely fits in only about a third of our shed.

Although they are sold officially in the GCC, they are still rare even when they're new.
