Trio de "sale gueules" ! Aussi nommée punaise-guitare elle appartient à la famille des reduviidae (réduves) . Ses pattes antérieure "ravisseuses", comparables à celles des mantes, lui servent à capturer ses proies. Elle possède au bord de la tête et du corselet une sorte de gouttières dans lesquelles elle replie ses antennes au repos. Un grand merci à Alain Ramel pour l'identification. Buzz and Ruby copulating on the railing of the Social Security Office building in Cambridge. Ruby was perched where she is now. Buzz was on the facing railing and inched his way south and then west along the railing before mounting his mate.
Copulating ladybirds on a runner bean plant in a city garden. Ladybird larvae are a major predator of the blackfly which attack runner beans so helping the gardener to get a better crop.
