SOOC +1

Used an unknown name of a filtre from a pentax film camera. My dawg.

Today wasn't as bad as I planned it out to be. Stalking, eating, thrifting, and singing. I'm tired though.

Teamwork is the name of the game as our Monday FIT crew hauls a concrete beam to the job site. This beam is one of the main structural members supporting the roof of the two-car garage. Pictured are students: Stephen Craig, Lorenzo Fevola, Mike Matern and Charles Russell (Cayman Islands).

I was on a chair jag this time. Couldn't get enough of them.

I think we NEED new chairs. Somewhere.

We also need to win the lottery to even think about having any of those on display.

Saturday 11 November 2006, Day 30

Books are important in our house.

Here are the shelves holding our "special" books. On the top shelf, left side, are these truly amazing pop-up books. Top shelf, right side, is:

* The first edition Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick that remcat gave me on our first Christmas.

* An uncorrected proof of Orson Scott Card's Hart's Hope, also a gift from remcat.

* An early edition Wizard of Oz that I gave remcat on our first Christmas.

* An early edition The Adventures of Remi.

Also on the top shelf are the really cool bookends Dave and Katy gave me and a ceramic car painted by one of the Clones.

On the bottom shelf, left side, are remcat's Oz and Oz-related books. Bottom shelf, right side, are Nick Bantock's Griffin & Sabine books.

Also on the bottom shelf are the ceramic picture frame that Clone #2 painted for me, and the purple, heart-shaped bottle that Joyce and Barbara gave us at their wedding reception.

FIT students get an overview of project details. This is a 3,000 sq. ft. residence that will be built in the short time frame of one week. Normally, a project of this magnitude would take approximately four months. Truly a daunting task!

Did this for my illuminated letter project for my art class. Decided on the letter "J" and drew and a picture of a male Eclectus (species) Vosmaeri (subspecies), which is the type of bird/parrot that Joshua -- my parrot -- is. And yes, he's perched up on a tree. I ended up coloring it and whatnot as well.

Tony Stark has attempted once more to thwart Galactus' plans. This time, though, things didn't work out all that well. Galactus's tight grip on Stark's leg is making it difficult for him to escape. Will he face certain doom or get out of his predicament with the aid of his fellow superheroes? Be ready for anything, true believers -- it's gonna be a heck of an outcome!

Lightning in Cape Vincent, NY.

A wall of cool stuff that people have sent to me. There's actually even more stuff just to the left of this, but if I pulled the camera back any farther you wouldn't be able to see anything.

That's 48 tires on the ground. The trailer can carry an M1 tank, and the whole thing is hydraulic so all the wheels can steer, or the trailer can kneel like it is here to help off cargo, or it can raise an axel to change one of the 40 tires.

Did this at the winter retreat. The hand is holding a weapon that has a tomahawk at one end and a knife blade on the other. Below it is a Sony TV set. The tendrils -- under the hand and above the TV -- represent wires and the fact that the hand and TV will merge or fuse together. After that, the TV would probably have violent images on it seeing as it's blank/turned off to begin with. This was probably inspired by David Cronenberg's Videodrome, which deals with violent television in an absurd way and the fact that it could have an affect on those who watch it.

In no way am I endorsing violence here. Just felt like doing something surreal as well as a commentary on the consumption of mass media. Perhaps it's also a product of my rather messed up imagination and thoughts.

There was a group of Japanese travelling around Trafalgar Sq. with quirky umbrellas last month. Japanese they have the quirkiest ideas - from packaging to applications.
