The friendly demonstration at Romilly Park in Barry was well attended. Alan Cairns MP together with councillors Lis Burnett and Vince Driscoll spoke with the supporters of around 150- 200 in number many of whom were accompanied by their beloved pet dogs.
The Group is fundamentally opposed to the VOG Council Public Space Protection Order Dog Control currently undergoing a Public Consultative Process. The aim is to overturn the changes that the Order places on the Responsible Dog Owners of the Vale of Glamorgan. To achieve this it will be necessary to establish a strategy and programme of events and actions aimed at achieving The Policy along with dialogue and lobbying of Councillors. It will also be an ongoing process to inform dog owners of the Vale of Glamorgan regarding the Order.

Control Point One
Built in the early 1950s, Control Point One (CP-1) is located between Frenchman Flat and Yucca Dry Lake. It was built for use during atmospheric nuclear testing and was still in use for the last U.S. underground test in 1991. It remains operationally ready for use today. The purpose of the CP is to provide a secure facility for the people and equipment required for the final preparation, execution, and follow-up of a nuclear test. The main features of CP-1 are: (1) The Department of Energy (DOE) Command Center where the DOE Test Controller and advisors maintain direct communications with many support and advisory organizations; (2) A complete National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather forecasting station; (3) A Control Room from which the count down and detonation signals are sent to Ground-Zero; and (4) Limited housing and feeding facilities for the required personnel

To celebrate Barbara's birthday we went to Vienna for a a couple of days. Bolar hats, horses, rain, art, cocktails. We took it all in. Here's a few pics from last weekend.
This is an Electrical Control Box very similar to the ones in School Lane and Barkfield Lane Formby. It is thought they may have been involved with the timing of street lighting.
