Formerly the home of Duncan Traffic Equipment Company, once one of the nation's leading producers of parking meters, was located in the 1907 building at 835 N. Wood St. It now contains 16 loft units.
Long before young Mayor Daley's dealing fiasco selling the rights to Chicago's parking metering to a private company, Duncan was known for its connections, political and otherwise. Its president Jerome Robinson managed to stay out of the long arms of the law, although a New York City-based PR man went to prison for lying before a grand jury on his efforts to get a no-bid contract for the city's parking meters during the mid-1960s.

I was contracted last year by the charity Lifelink, and have been working for them on and off throughout the past few months. Yesterday, I was asked to shadow the people at Playbusters and document the work they do in the East End of Glasgow, "bringing families, children and the wider community together through a variety of activities and educational opportunities."
I took this photograph as a group of us, volunteers and children, walked to the nearby allotments where the Playbuster children have a plot, and where they are recording interviews with other, older plotholders as part of Glasgow's Oral History Research Project.
As I was packing some things away last night - I'm moving house - I found a small book called Scottish Wit and Wisdom and in it I read the saying that I have given to this image as a title. It means children have no politics.

Lothian Buses have now lost the running of service 63 and as of Monday 31st August the council have awarded the service to First Bus.
First 63249 at Edinburgh Park on a service 63 working to Riccarton and Balerno. 31st August 2020.

This is complicated, ready? OK! This aircraft was on wet lease to Travel Service Airlines for the summer season, operated by Go2Sky Airlines. Travel Service Airlines have sub-leased it to Titan Airways (UK) (still operated by Go2Sky) to operate some of Titan's UK CAA contract flights repatriating Monarch Airlines returning passengers.
Quite an early Boeing 737NG (Line No: 106), this aircraft was delivered to Air Berlin as D-ABAP in Oct-98. In was sold on delivery to Joachim Hunold & Company (Air Berlin's founder) and leased back to Air Berlin.
It was sold to SALE Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise in Nov-01 while the lease to Air Berlin continued. Blended winglets were added in 2005. The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Jun-12 and immediately leased to SunExpress Airlines - Germany as D-ASXK.
It was returned to the lessor in Jan-17 and leased to Go2Sky Airlines (Slovakia) as OM-GTF 10 days later. It's first sub-lease was to Air Berlin for 4 weeks in Feb/Mar-17. On it's return to Go2Sky it was sub-leased to Fly Niki (Austria) for 4 weeks in Apr-17.
At the beginning May-17 it spent 11 days sub-leased to TUI Airlines Belgium before being sub-leased to Travel Service Airlines (Czech Republic) in mid May-17. The aircraft returned to Go2Sky on 01-Oct-17 and was immediately wet-leased to Titan Airways (UK) for two weeks to operate repatriation flights for Monarch Airlines passengers. It returned to Go2Sky in Mid Oct-17.
The aircraft was wet-leased to Sunrise Airways (Haiti) between Dec-17/Feb-18. It was leased to Travel Service Airlines-Poland for the summer season between Mar/Oct-18.
The aircraft was operated on many short-term leases for other airlines during the 2019/2020 winter season but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, their summer season contracts were cancelled.
They operated some sub-charters and some PPE flights to China but were forced to cease operations in Aug-20. The aircraft was parked at Piest'any, Slovakia and Go2Sky temporarily ceased operations.
The aircraft returned to service in Aug-21. It was wet-leased to SmartWings Airlines in May-23 for the summer season. Current, updated 05-Oct-23.

Stagecoach in South Wales continues to outshop its remaining Alexander Dennis Pointer-bodied Darts in the revised corporate livery incorporating a whiter front.
34750 is a recent transfer from Merthyr Tydfil depot to Blackwood, and was operating the Free Bus contract for the town's Asda Store in mid January 2019 as she was leaving High Street to start the climb to the Bus Station.
This contract was of course once the home of Alexander PS-bodied Volvo B10M 20697, which carried an all-over green livery, before giving way to Transbus Pointer-bodied Dart 34555.
Good morning everyone and I hope you had a nice weekend. Presented today is a short series on a new caterpillar for yours truly. Being what I'm pretty sure is a Contracted Datana Caterpillar (Datana contracta).
The reason I say I'm pretty sure is because there are two other caterpillars I found while doing a search that look very similar. An Angus's Datana Caterpillar (Datana angusii) and a Yellownecked Caterpillar (Datana ministra). So if anyone thinks I'm wrong, please don't hestitate to advise me accordingly as identifying many caterpillar species, especially moths, can be difficult unless you're an expert. Which I'm not. Thank you.
Strangely the host plants for all three species are oak, chestnut and walnut trees, as well as other assorted trees. Mainly fruit trees for some. Not rosa multiflora that the caterpillars in these pics are seen feeding on, which made it even more confusing.
One final note, the smaller orangey colored caterpillars with white stripes are earlier instars of the late stage black & white striped mature individual seen above.

Rider York's five year contract to run York's Park and Ride services began in June 1995. The new vehicles, which were due to be provided as part of the contract, could not be ordered and delivered in the lead time between contract award and start date. It was therefore agreed that other vehicles could be used as a short-term measure. One of those deployed was EWR656Y, a 1983 Leyland Tiger TRBTL11/2R with Duple Dominant Bus DP47F body, which had been new to West Yorkshire PTE for the Leeds Ring Road bus service. It had passed to Yorkshire Rider, when the WYPTE fleet was privatised. In this June 1995 picture, the vehicle is at the Askham Bar Park and Ride site, on the service to which it had been dedicated for the time being.
When York's Councillors approved Park and Ride in 1990, they made clear that it should avoid the need for Council subsidy as soon as possible. This was to be achieved during the life of this contract, with the expectation, based on forecast patronage, that in the latter years of the contract the Council would receive a share of revenue surpluses from Rider York. In 1991, the first full year of Askham Bar's operation, recorded annual passenger numbers were over 386.000. This had risen to over 595,000 by 1994 and rose still further to nearly 735,000 in 1995. With this contract, Council Officers took a step back from day to day involvement in operation of the service, assuming a monitoring role to ensure that the contractor's obligations were being satisfactorily met. That meant that, as well as running the bus services, the contractor became responsible for routine upkeep of the car parks.
This is one of my original lawn contracts. I've been maintaining this lawn since the mid 90's. We just power raked and top seeded this lawn three weeks ago so it will be a few more weeks until it's in it's best condition. I'll be fertilizing these lawns next week too. No photo editing on these photos either. I'm just really happy with how they are taking shape. 😃

The South Island oystercatcher or South Island pied oystercatcher (Haematopus finschi) is one of the two common oystercatchers found in New Zealand. Its name is often contracted to the acronym "SIPO" (rhyming with "typo").

Greenethorpe. The village was laid out and built in 1908 to house share farmers contracted to work 640 acre blocks on Iandra castle estate. Two style of houses are clear- those for share farmers and labouring workers on the estate. The Anglican Church and the first Methodist churches were built in 1910 with the current Methodist in 1928 and the Catholic in 1933. The original railway siding of 1887 called Iandra was changed to Greenethorpe once the village was established. The state Greenethorpe School was established in 1903 and the Post Office started in 1908. The township survives with around 120 residents and its churches, the Shamrock Hotel, the local hall, a state school (23 students), Post Office and general store/café in the old 1935 bank building. From 1991 the rail service to Grenfell terminated at Greenethorpe but it has closed. To keep the town alive it began an ex farm house rental scheme to bring families to the town. Weekly rental was set at $1 for disused houses.

The 6E70 BR Railfreight Distribution Contract Services train comprising empty chemicals tanks being returned to Teeside from the West Midlands was recorded passing Milford South. RfD Class 47/3 47349 had charge of the 11:35 Bescot Yard to ICI Haverton Hill Exchange Sidings.

So, let me start by making posting the story of Valiant:
Valiant, an Ascendant Lord, built like a castle, with high defense, and average mobility,
It is feared by it’s massive strength and usually, 1 hit from him is all that is needed to win.
Its pilot usually goes around with his son, who he is training to be the next pilot of Valiant. The Son, born blind, can only see when attached to the valiant, which makes this story even darker...
Valiant was seen as a threat, so Joker was contracted to eliminate it...which he did, but left the son alive, he does not kill if it is not on contract.

So, I got some new pieces, and I wanted to rebuild Valiant, but I got this idea of making a dynamic plot series, and this gave me the chance.
