This could be a farm filed anywhere in the world, but it happens to be on a secondary highway we were using to travel from Le Mans to Paris. The weather was not exactly the best, but it does have a winter vibe to it. For 118 pictures in 2018, #55, "Contours".
I took this picture of my son a few years ago. When I stumbled across a scheme for making contours (basically, it's an edge detection of the posterized image superimposed on the original image), I tried it on all kinds of pictures, but this is one of the few (maybe the only one) where I've been happy with the result. Ok, the colors are a little extreme... -- I was reminded of it by the easter flowers that fizzix posted recently.

Is a species of raptors populating the Western Palearctic. In ancient French, and still in the sixteenth century, it is called a cloak. Its plumage is reddish brown above, streaked with black underneath, its head, neck, throat whitish streaked with dark. His eyes have a green outline with a black dot in the middle. The female is a little duller. The bill is yellow at the base, gray at the end and rounded like a mini hook. In flight, it presents a characteristic silhouette, with its long, narrow and strongly bent wings, light spots under the wings and its indented tail.

En esta imagen he intentado sacar el contorno de mi silueta, el efecto me ha gustado, me recuerda a la peli Sin City.

I was naked when I took this picture,so for me its a portrail of self identity, the mirror is a symbol of self reflection in a concious manner and I follow the conour of the mirror as an overall belief in who I am and where Im at in life. In control.

A theme that I gravitate to lately is finding geometry and patterns in nature or manmade creations. This one was the roof architecture at Denver International Airport.
One good belief I’ve followed as a photographer is to always “look up”. There are many opportunities for abstract photography. For more, check out my “Look Up” series.
I rendered this image in black and white and color. Which one do you like the most?
Ford added the Deluxe in 1937 as a 'line within a line' offering upscale features and trim. To further distinguish the 'Deluxe' from the 'Standard' line, Ford gave them unique front-end sheet metal for 1938. The budget-oriented Standard Model 82A cars had a modified 1937-style grille and hood, while the DeLuxe Model 81A, the first to be styled by E.T. Gregorie's new design section, adopted a heart-shaped motif with a curved outline for the radiator grille and separate hood louvers. The sedan body styles wore new bodies with a curved fastback contour. Changes to the interior of DeLuxe models included a revised instrument panel with recessed control knobs and a radio speaker in the center. DeLuxe models added dual windshield wipers, a 'banjo' steering wheel, a vanity mirror in the sun visor, walnut wood-grain window moldings and dash panels, and a locking glove-compartment door with a factory clock.
The Standard models could be equipped with either a 60-horsepower or 85-horsepower version of Ford's 221 cubic-inch L-head V8 engine. The DeLuxe models came exclusively with the more powerful of the two. Body styles on the coupe included a coupe, Tudor Sedan, or Fordor Sedan. The DeLuxe came in three times as many variations, the second most popular of which was the Fordor Sedan.
In 1863 the first sugar factory was opened in Halfweg. After a few years, this sugar factory closed its doors, after which the N.V. Sugar Factory Holland settled there not much later. The factory was located on the site that includes the former Gemeenlandshuis Swanenburg. In 1919, the Sugar Factory Holland was transferred to the Central Sugar Company. This is how the name “CSM” came about. From the mid-1970s, CSM grew into a large concern. The sugar activities became less important. In 1992 the factory in Halfweg was closed. Due to the closure, approximately 110,000 m² of land surface was freed up for redevelopment.
In 2000 the site was sold to a project developer. The two silos of the sugar factory, where the sugar and molasses used to be stored, have been converted into modern offices and show areas. The two fifty-metre-high sugar silos, together with the lime kiln, form the landmarks of SugarCity. The silos are clad on the outside with metal panels with coloured lamps on them, which give a light show on the two towers in the evenings.
Schiphol
SugarCity is situated almost directly in line with on the runways of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This causes one of the external safety contours (10-6) to lie over one of the towers. The potential risk is such that it has been discussed for a long time whether so many people are allowed to be there and/or work there. A compromise was found. The towers were not allowed to be developed to the maximum with offices and workstations. Hence the show areas. This reduces the number of people present at any time, and as such the reduces the number of potential deaths if an aircraft would hit the tower(s).
Technical stuff
I’ve been offline for some time. This was due to a number of reasons. Not in the least caused by rather demanding work. Next to that I had numerous photography assignments like weddings, a cover photo for a book, family shoots and inaugural lecture at the University of Leiden. All great fun. But also time-consuming. However, I didn't want to let 2022 pass quietly, either. So I'll try to upload some pictures in the coming remaining days.
This fine art is the first. This ND long exposure is a 200ISO, f5.0, 181sec at 16 mils shot with my Fujifilm X-T3. Post-production was done with Lightroom. Finally, I added the copyright signs (in Photoshop). The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the frequent copying of my photos. So, don't bother commenting on that.
3 of 5, it would appear that had they added some fill the tracks could have been much straighter at this location. I am sure however that there was much more to it than my simple statement. In any event it makes for an interesting perspective as the track really follow the contours of Turnagain Arm.
From Threlkeld ascend Clough Head and then you can head in a generally southerly direction, over Calfhow Pike, Great Dodd, Watson's Dodd, Stybarrow Dodd, Raise, Whiteside Bank, Lower Man, Helvellyn, Nethermost Pike, High Crag and finally Dollywaggon Pike, before you have to drop down below the magical 2,000 foot contour line to Grisedale Tarn.
From there it's back up to Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag and High Pike before the final descent over Low Pike and into Ambleside.
You might want to get the bus back.
The loaded iron ore train has about 100km to run of its 700km trip to the Atlantic Ocean from the mine at Zouerate in Mauritania. On this particular section of dead straight track, the wagons follow the contours of the Sahara Desert, disappearing over the horizon. Trains can be up to two and a half kilometres long.
