Staring Contest - Juvenile Western-Screech Owl is certainly undefeated at his death glare.
This was taken at 700mm and is a tight crop - the owl's surprised expression was due to some hikers walking by his home, whom he was quite used to at this point, but still curious about.

On the border of North Vietnam and China (the hills on the right). These falls were a highlight of my trip to Vietnam. At 30 metres high and 300 metres across, they were stunningly beautiful to see in the bright sunlight. Being not on the normal tourist route, it was good to see them 'in the raw' - and the nearby village still unspoilt by tourists.

I visited my brother's farm in New Hampshire and I loved the abstract quality in this, like a line drawing.
I've entered these three photos in a CT Audubon photo contest/fundraiser. There was a three photo limit, in seven categories...here are my entries for the insect, plants, and bird categories. The reception is this Friday evening and winning entries will be marked when we arrive - I'll keep you posted. Oh, and most prints entered will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting local Audubon programs.
