Candid captured in Newport, Gwent, Wales.

This old guy always looks so content

Sawubona! ( Agora você sabe como dizer "Oi" em Zulu!)

Haha, sempre me divirto com essas saudações do flickr!

Boa semana!

Took the picture and forgot that "The girl with the pearl earing" was looking over my shoulder. Vermeer definitely is my favorite artist.

I want to come back as a cow on this farm next time round. Fed 20 times a day by a robot, floor swept automatically 24 times a day, and the most comfortable mattress to lie on.

Evening light on a stream bed dropping though Temblor Range hills toward the Carrizo Plain

On this early April day I drove south from the San Francisco Bay Area on highway 101, leaving that route and heading east near Paso Robles to travel through the impossibly green spring landscape of Central California hills. I wasn't alone. This being a beautiful spring Sunday, many others were out here to look for spectacular wildflower displays. And here, as in many other similar California locations, we found what we were looking for.

I continued to the east, eventually arriving at this high plain, often a desolate place but for a few weeks in wet years a place full of growth and color. I met up with friends who were already camped there, and we soon headed out to look for places with special color. We followed a small gravel road up into the foothills of the Temblor Range — we parked where it ended, loaded up packs, and continued on up into the hills of foot, heading toward some extensive fields of colorful wildflowers. As we topped the first rise I paused an looked back down at the base of the hills where the gully of a small stream winds its way toward the plain.

It has been a while since my last upload to this set. Life has taken some twits and some turns, Some good, some bad, some easy, some hard. But after the ups the downs, the ins the outs, I am back. I have some much stuff to upload its ridiculous. This is continuing from my last shoot with Angel in September, but not to fear we have some new stuff coming up. Hope you enjoy.

Comment or Fav, I do not really care which, or none at all, because at the end of the day who cares.

This gentleman seemed so out of place by the way he dressed for the beach but yet seemed totally content and like he belonged there.

This is a photo that i shot in January of 2010. I took this into Photoshop CS5 and healed out the power lines. I really just re-uploaded this to help demonstrate the power of CS5's Content Aware feature. As you can see, it is almost perfect compared to the original. There are some differences, but nothing noticeable. With the right size brush and a steady hand, you can heal out almost anything.

After trying out some slide film to cross process, I loaded up my crappy yardsale-found camera with some Lomo Redscale film. It had a difficult time not reflecting back a lot of the light on the other side of the film, so there are some blue hues in the shots that look almost like light leaks.

Anyway, I was still satisfied by a lot of the results and this extremely cheap, plastic camera keeps on surprising me! The first of these upcoming shots are from my girlfriend's sister's wedding and after that most of them are from this past autumn.

Taken with Luminox 356SL analog camera. Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 film (not sure what actual film they've redscaled when selling this product, but I'm guessing it usually has a ISO value of 400). 5 years expired.

Negative scanned with Epson Perfection V500 Photo, cropped and downsized for the web.

From www.outofchicago.com I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves on last night's photo walk. The weather was perfect. We were able to get into many of the buildings on campus. Unfortunately, they closed Rockefeller Chapel early and Bond Chapel was not open. But there were many other places that were open. They were especially accommodating at the Harper Reading Library, allowing a few people at a time to go up into the loft.

I had a few people email me that they couldn't make it (life gets in the way), but we still had a strong showing of great photographers. In all, 28 people made it for the walk. Many thanks to Matt Frankel for leading us on the tour. Thanks to everyone that showed up and made the night a lot of fun for everyone.

Photo Contest:

I wanted to give some incentive to people to post their favorite images to one place so that we could see them. So I'm running a little photo contest for the pictures from last night. Copy and paste your favorite photos from the night (up to three) to the OutofChicago Flickr group's discussion thread for the contest. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to Amazon.com. Justin (BigCatChicago) has already started it off with a bang. I originally said that the contest would run until March 17th, but I'll give you until Sunday night, the 18th. The winners will be announced later that week.

If you missed out on last night's adventure, and would like to visit the campus on your own, you may want to download the guide that I passed out at the walk last night. And if you did miss out, I hope to see you on our next walk.

I've not really been interested in still life photos until I picked up my new (now 6 months old) Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens. It does a great job at creating a narrow depth of field and I began experimenting with it over the Christmas holiday while I was down in southern Florida. To see the entire collection of still-life closeups that I've posted thus far, go to www.flickr.com/photos/stevefrazier/sets/72157652915649641

Sitting on a glass shelf, this decorative rhinoceros with a bird sitting on its back is made of clay and quite heavy. The whiskers on its upper lip are made from wire. For some reason, this critter makes me smile every time I see it. :D

The farm at UCSC is a place I always feel peace. It is quiet and lovely. Lots of really sweet apprentices milling about - tending to the fields and doing what they do. They have a house where they share homemade organic meals and there is guitar music coming from it. The tables outside are filled with dry flowers and wreaths. There is a farm cat rolling in the dirt, looking relaxed and happy. If I ever need to de-stress, I go here. Or just to take photos. It doesn't hurt that the ocean view from there is amazing.

If I win millions in the Lotto someday, the farm is the first place I'd make a big, fat donation.

So I’ve been wanting to experiment with studio stuff so I set up a shoot with my friend Sebastian last week. There wasn’t a ton of room in my garage but I think I did pretty well with the cropping and content aware tool! I changed up the lighting situations using my AB800 both with the Paul C Buff 47in octobox + grid and bare bulb with color gels. Sebastian did all the posing work, as I’m still lacking in that department. This is also the first time I’ve done dodge/burning in Photoshop and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Strobe was positioned directly over the camera facing Sebastian at around 1/8 power

Comfortable in this lovely dress that sits and flows just right. Content when I am to be Jenny and enjoy pampering myself in front of the fire
