On the 30th December 2024 the Hyundai Merchant Marine very large container ship 'HMM Rotterdam' (2020, 229,039DWT) is seen in the Tor Bay deep water anchorage awaiting for its berth at Rotterdam after arrival from Algeciras. At 399.9m long and with a beam of 61.5m, this 23,820 TEU class was the biggest in the world when built and although the latest ships have similar dimensions, they have circa 500 extra TEU capacity.

Containerproject

The Container City in Cholula is a small neighbourhood created from recycled shipping containers. The area is a popular spot for hipsters and houses restaurants, bars and small shops.

A 7w container trailer with movable axles (one of them locked with a rail plate. so that it stays upright when there's a load).

This has been a WIP for quite some time. Now that there are click locks on the containers the Technic axle locks on the trailer are no longer necessary, you may lock them directly to the main beam (you may spot one of the holes between the dark bluish gray tiles).

Anyhow, this was an occasion to combine System and Technic parts in a rather unusual way. Plus the trailer may carry all sorts of containers (even the smaller 17 x 7 ones which I still don't have).

Hamilton, Ontario has a large industrial sector and, as a result, shipping is an essential element in keeping that sector operating. To that end, standardized shipping containers are used and, when they are awaiting either loading onto ships for transport to their ultimate destination or awaiting further distribution following off-loading from ships, the containers area stacked neatly, as seen here. The resulting pattern of multi-coloured ‘boxes’ is captured here in an industrial area. - JW

Fairly simple yet still pretty strong (I think) eight-wide model of a single-bay intermodal well car. The bay measures six studs wide by 32 studs long, which fits LEGO®'s Maersk Train containers.

A real container car.
