It had just finished raining slightly. I was hidden in the grass hoping the grebes would come closer. When they did it was a magical hour. Here the grebe trying to find what was making the clicking noise.
A really close-up portrait of a male mallard. I was lucky to catch him when he made eye contact with me.

The Sword-billed Hummingbird is a charismatic species from Andean South America. It is found from Venezuela and Colombia in the north to Bolivia in the south. The species belongs to a monotypic genus, Ensifera, and is quite different from all other hummingbirds; metallic green and bronzed overall, with a black bill that is slightly upcurved and longer than the body length. This is the only bird species with a bill length that exceeds the body length. When seen perched, the species usually holds its bill quite upright, presumably because of balance issues stemming from this long and relatively heavy structure.

One of the wallabies that live on my property. This is the male of a small family group that seem to live in the bush behind our cabin. He was watching me carefully while mum and joey were happily munching on the grass.

The Skies Of October..,
In mid October early in the morning Karen and I made our way to White Spruce park to get some fabulous fall shots.
the clouds were spectacular that day, the winds were blowing them around like dust in the wind. this shot of the clouds over the white spruce side of the park shows a small white cloud all balled up; which looks like a cloud blowing the rest of them
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,
