The central branch of the Vancouver Public Library is a hub of activity. I entered the building to get out of the rain. The main mezzanine is a wide open area with plenty of places to take a break. I was standing close to the library entrance when I saw Rusty coming toward me. He made eye contact and approached me asking me about my camera. He was curious if it was an old film camera. We got onto the subject of cameras and he was quite knowledgeable on the subject.
I explained my project and gave him a card, Rusty was a willing participant.
Rusty came to British Columbia from the UK in 1975 at 8 years of age. Rusty has worked in construction most of his life and has lived both on the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Unfortunately the last few years have not been kind to Rusty as he suffered an injury at work. His goal now is to find full time employment and a permanent place to live. In spite of his circumstances Rusty had a positive outlook and was confident that his fortunes would be changing. We continued talking for quite some time before we had to be on our respective ways.
Thank you Rusty for being a part of my project, I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours. Good Luck!!

Anyone living in Bracknell is well aware of the town centre regeneration which is taking place. Our new town will be ready next autumn.
Much has been said about the new buildings and shops but very little about the huge army of builders, construction workers, electricians, plumbers and labourers who are actually putting the pieces in place.
This set is about these guys - The Regeneration Men.

I saw this battered construcion workers cabin during my visit to the St. Egidien building site in East Germany, near Zwickau. The platform is to clean the muddy truck before they leave the site.

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list
This is my only lifelong wish
This is my grown up Christmas list
I don't need anything
That's for sure
Cause right now I've got it all
All I want in this world
Right at the top of my list
My number one wish
Is to be your Christmas Girl
I just wanna be your Christmas Girl.
