Construction site essentials are obviously a portable toilet cubicle and a construction trailer, for the work crew to be able to have breaks. These were fun little builds, the trailer in particular. Lego's part palette is amazing, going back over the decades. The shutters are about as old as I am, but they're just about perfect for this.

The Sasol HQ office building nearing completion in Sandton, set against stormy, Johannesburg skies. There's a huge amount of construction taking place in Sandton at the moment. Do these people know something about the ailing South African economy the rest of us don't?
I have not used selective de-saturation on this shot, although at first glance it may appear otherwise.
Two restaurants, right next door to each other, both with the tell-tale paper window coverings indicating that they're out of business, both with construction permits in the window showing they're being remodeled. Konica Auto-Reflex, Kodak Plus-X, Rodinal 1:50.
Construction sites of high-rise buildings in Sri Lanka are always covered with tarpaulins. But they are not well secured. So it always looks as if it would be more like demolition than new construction

A six story appartment for low income seniors is being built across the tracks from Russellville Park.
I had an opportunity to explore the construction site for the future city centre and captured a few interesting perspectives.
As a GM Buses 'Standard' sneaks into the shot, construction is at an advanced stage on the Metrolink liveried 1991 built Bow String Bridge, that will take the trams over Great Bridgewater Street and up to the G-MEX stop.

I can not stop playing with the cones and nocking them over. The stop and go sign is adorable with the little spin it does to change. Not photographed it also comes with a traffic light which i could stare at for hours, a car charger for your recharging needs and a very loud whistle!
