The radio opens with four screws. The power pack (eight AA batteries) is contained in the back half of the shell, and the electronics are all on the front half. And (GASP!) they used a connector so the two can be separated! These guys are swiftly becoming my heroes.
The internal layout is very clean, and the wiring runs are pretty neat compared to my aging AM radio. They did a neat job.
The main board comes out after removing a single screw. I didn't photograph it, but judging from the silkscreen on the front side of the board, the same board is used for a number of radios. If it's any indicator, the push button for binding the transmitter to a receiver is actually a five-way joystick switch. The case constrains it to only be used as a push button.

PDF, pp. 18: = "...As Trajan’s Forum is still mentioned as being one of the most beautiful monuments of Rome by the Einsiedeln Itinerary at the end of the eighth century, whereas at the beginning of the eleventh century the author of the Mirabilia Urbis Romae (see in D’Onofrio 1988; Valentini and Zucchetti 1942) only notes Trajan’s Column where “fuit templum divi Traiani”,29 it would be logical to conclude that vast portions of the buildings of the Forum had collapsed between these two ancient guidebooks, possibly “pushed” by one or both of the ninth century earthquakes (the first one, according to Meneghini and Santangeli Valenzani 2007). This situation of incipient ruin could also be indirectly indicated by the building in the ninth century of Saint Nicholas church against the column base and by the contemporary spoliation of the Forum pavement slabs (i.e., at least those not buried by the rubbles), which occurred before the deposition of marshy levels during the first half of the ninth century (Meneghini and Santangeli Valenzani 2007). In order to challenge this hypothesis, we had the opportunity of studying the remains of the Basilica Ulpia recently discovered under the Roccagiovine Palace30 (La Regina and Scaroina 2012). Here we have found the abrupt collapse of the structural elements (columns, wall, concrete-vaults) of the eastern sector over the original pavement of the Basilica. Some charcoals sampled between themarble slabs and the wall rubbles provided an age of 670–780 AD (2 s calibrated age) which represents the post quem term for the cave-in of the building, matching effectively with both the ninth century earthquakes (see 1349 earthquake for further details)."
PDF, pp. 22 & 23 = :"...Analogously, the same earthquake could have affected some Roman buildings still standing in the Imperial Fora, such as those in Trajan’s Forum. Indeed, the study of some surviving collapses—which were not examined during the 1930s excavations—has shown that some pieces of the Basilica Ulpia vaults and columns fell down simultaneously, not only over the ancient pavement slabs but also over a ca. 0.5-m-thick abandonment level. The latter contained mainly pottery and glass shards spanning between the 9th and the fourteenth century, with rare fragments from the fourteenth to fifteenth century. Therefore, according to Meneghini (1989), the final collapse of the Basilica Ulpia could be related to the 1349 earthquake and to the successive looting of the ruins. A paradigmatic situation which supports this interpretation is still visible on the eastern side of the Basilica, under the above mentioned Roccagiovine Palace. Here the concrete vaults, walls, and architectural elements of one of the lateral naves fell directly on both the marble slabs and over a successive frequentation level which had developed on the previous rubble, testifying to successive episodes of abrupt collapses. The radiocarbon dating of charcoals that we sampled from on top of the pavement and within the successive frequentation horizon has made it possible to constrain the epoch of both collapse episodes (see Fig. 15). After the first cave-in occurred due to the 847 earthquake (and/or to the 801 event; i.e., post 670–780 AD), the building was partially ravaged (note in Fig. 15 the removal of the marble slabs that were not buried by the collapsed wall) and the rubble sealed by a frequentation level dated at 1150–1220 AD (2 s calibrated age of charcoal) that is rich in meal remnants (e.g. bird bones and clam shells of the species Donax trunculus). The abrupt and extensive collapse of the concrete vaults subsequently buried this level during a period that closely matches with the 1349 earthquake (i.e., post 1150–1220 AD)."

Took another trip down to chi-town with some friends to wander around and take photos. I wanted to constrain myself for the day so just used my 50 f/1.8 lens. It was nice because it makes you think about the composition a little more and the DoF is very nice. But i did pop on the 70-200 f/2.8 while we sat at the bean. It's always fun to try new styles and to people watch :)

The line immediately south of New Mills Central packs in a series of civil engineering structures worthy of a restrained space model railway. This is because the river valleys of the Goyt and the Sett did constrain engineering choices. The southern end of the 123 yard New Mills tunnel runs straight out on to New Mills viaduct.
Just a slight computer tweak, and the surly bonds of earth are slipped. Angels of the world, unite! Throw off your constraining pedestals and soar!
This neat little galaxy is known as NGC 4526. Its dark lanes of dust and bright diffuse glow make the galaxy appear to hang like a halo in the emptiness of space in this new image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. Although this image paints a picture of serenity, the galaxy is anything but. It is one of the brightest lenticular galaxies known, a category that lies somewhere between spirals and ellipticals. It has hosted two known supernova explosions, one in 1969 and another in 1994, and is known to have a colossal supermassive black hole at its centre that has the mass of 450 million Suns. NGC 4526 is part of the Virgo cluster of galaxies. Ground-based observations of galaxies in this cluster have revealed that a quarter of these galaxies seem to have rapidly rotating discs of gas at their centres. The most spectacular of these is this galaxy, NGC 4526, whose spinning disc of gas, dust, and stars reaches out uniquely far from its heart, spanning some 7% of the galaxy's entire radius. This disc is moving incredibly fast, spinning at more than 250 kilometres per second. The dynamics of this quickly whirling region were actually used to infer the mass of NGC 4526’s central black hole — a technique that had not been used before to constrain a galaxy’s central black hole. This image was taken using Hubble’s Wide Field Planetary Camera 2. A version of this image was entered into the Hubble’s Hidden Treasures image processing competition by contestant Judy Schmidt. Hidden Treasures was an initiative to invite astronomy enthusiasts to search the Hubble archive for stunning images that have never been seen by the general public.
The day starts at 7:30 am with a 40-minute drive to the Punta Bandera dock to take a boat on Lago Argentino to Upsala Glacier, a large valley glacier on the eastern side of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Its higher portion lies in a disputed territory between Chile and Argentina. The glacier terminus is at Upsala channel of Lago Argentino. The Upsala Glacier is well known for its rapid retreat that has been ongoing since the glacier was first documented in 1810. The glacier showed almost continual recession up until 1999. The acceleration in ice motion during the two decades preceding 1999 may have been augmented by the release of backstress when the glacier retreated beyond the islands in Brazo Upsala. Another period of even faster retreat started in 2008. As of 2018 Upsala Glacier has retreated to such degree that it no longer constrains its tributary Bertacchi Glacier. The boat then drops us off at the Estancia Cristina, an Argentine cattle and sheep ranch located inside Los Glaciares National Park in Santa Cruz Province. It is here that we take a 4x4 for 45 minutes up a mountain, stop and continue up for another 20 minutes, reaching the summit around 12:30 pm. The ranch was founded in 1914 by Joseph Percival Masters, an Englishman who came to Patagonia with his wife in 1900; Estancia Cristina is named for Masters' daughter Cristina. Located on the coast of Brazo Cristina, a northern channel of Lago Argentino, Estancia Cristina still keeps the history of the Masters family alive. Its lodge has 20 rooms distributed over 5 buildings and it his here that we had lunch followed by a presentation of the traditional Mate, an Argentinean tea and a tour of the ranch. We then take the boat back to Punta Bandera and arrive back at the hotel at 8:00 pm.
This model is typical of dryers that constrain the user with a short, close-coupled hood. We judge this type least convenient.

Paracelsus (1493-1541)
One of the most striking and picturesque figures in the history of medicine, alchemy, and occultism, full name Auraelus Philippus Theophrastus Paracelsus Bombast von Hohenheim, this illustrious physician and exponent of the hermetic philosophy was renowned under the name of Paracelsus
He was born December 26, 1493, in Einsideln, near Zürich, Switzerland. His father, the natural son of a prince, himself a physician, desired that his only son should follow the same profession. The fulfillment of that desire was directed during the early training of Paracelsus. The training fostered his imaginative rather than his practical tendencies, which first cast his mind into the alchemical mould.
He freed himself from the constraining bonds of medicine as practiced by his contemporaries, who chiefly applied bleeding, purging, and emetics, and set about evolving a new system to replace the old. In order to study the book of nature better, he traveled extensively between 1513 and 1524 and visited almost every part of the known world. During his travels he compiled the wisdom present at the time on metallurgy, chemistry, and medicine, and the folk wisdom of the untutored.
Paracelsus met the Cham of Tartary, conversed with the magicians of Egypt and Arabia, and is said to have even reached India. At length his protracted wanderings came to a close, and in 1524 he settled in Basel, then a favorite resort of scholars and physicians, where he was appointed to fill the chair of medicine at the university.
His inflated language, eccentric behavior, and the splendor of his conceptions attracted, repelled, and gained him friends and enemies. His antipathy to the Galenic school became ever more pronounced, and the crisis came when he publicly burned the works of Galen and Avicenna in a vase into which he had cast nitrate and sulphur. By such a proceeding he incurred the hatred of his more conservative brethren and cut himself off forever from the established school of medicine. He continued his triumphant career, however, until a conflict with the magistrates brought it to an abrupt close. He was forced to flee from Basel, and thereafter wandered from place to place, earning a living as best he could.
An element of mystery surrounds the manner of his death, which took place September 24, 1541. Some say that he was poisoned at the instigation of the medical faculty, others that he was thrown down a steep incline.

This kiln had cooled down and been emptied of its content.
Note the steel bands round the kiln - a very necessary feature in earthquake country - besides constraining the structure so that the brick dome doesn't push the circular wall out.

Today I met up with a Polish model called Malwina and we were inspired to create some similar shots in the streets of Croydon.
The original was worn enough to allow quite a lot of play in this joint, which both supports the steerer tube and acts as its upper pivot point.
This replacement fits very snugly and, as intended, eliminates much of the slop. I will file the inside just a bit, actually, to make it easier to insert and remove the retaining pin, which is difficult to do without tools now.
To ensure longevity of high-pressure parts like this, and to facilitate filing, I suggest using the highest density fill (or solid, if possible) - this part is actually double-walled, which I suspect constrains how much further it can be filed down.
La forêt de Grésigne. The forest also contains the l'oppidum Saint-Clément. Largely an oak tree forest of 3,600 hectares. With a deeper soil, away from the size constrains of the limestone plateaus, the trees are large for the region and the productivity of acorns assures wild boar amongst the berries and sapplings. Red deer are plenty and the site backs up behind Bruniquel, known for its prehistorical finds from Neanderthal through Magdalenian and into the late Neolithic.
There are two other faint dolmens near to la Fage (B), but there was a significant hunt going on, and I was wearing rather dark cloths: and so ... rather than wade through the brambles sweeping between the leaves I kept to the point and only photographed the dolmen that was easy to find. As I photographed, there was a hunter posted four meters to my side. I shot the dolmen and he shot the 'grand gibier'.

There is a new puppy in the family. Her name is Lux and she is a Golden Doodle. There is a remarkable resemblance to a Steiff Teddy Bear, but I assure you she is alive and very active. We placed her on a benchtop to constrain her activity and keep her is the right zone for the lighting.

I read it during one of our practice APLit exams the other day in class,
and I just really enjoyed it.

I've been doing all this figure work, particularly the more awkward poses to try and work my way up to sketching cyclists. As you can see I'm afraid I'm not quite there. Constraining the hands, feet, butt and getting a natural figure is still out of reach. But I was having fun trying. The shoulders are too wide or uneven, the rider is too stiff, in both attempts it looks like he's standing, not seated. Ah well.

Armed with his 35mm camera and no lighting they took to the streets and shot fashion wherever they wanted free from the constrains of a studio where most fashion shoots were held. I love the atmosphere of the shots and the fact that passers by are sometimes included. Some of the shots have been scanned into this Flickr Set (not by me)...

Today I met up with a Polish model called Malwina and we were inspired to create some similar shots in the streets of Croydon.

And then she will grow tired of telling me, I know her; get along with you. This won't last for ever. And then you'll be a lot better off." ...Meanwhile the thermometer, like a Weird Sister momentarily vanquished by some more ancient god, held motionless her silver spindle.

Want to create your own?
1) Take your image and open in Photoshop.
2) Under Image_Image Size, there is a checkbox, "Constrain Proportions" make sure this is unchecked. Then make the height and width the same value. 900x900 etc..
3) Now your imagine is distorted and square, rotate the canvas 180 degrees. Image_Rotate Canvas_180
4) Final step, Filter_Distort_Polar Coordinates.
This should spin the image around and make planet or world as some people like to call them. Hope it works for you.

Cassini has sighted Prometheus and Pandora, the two F-ring-shepherding
moons whose unpredictable orbits both fascinate scientists and wreak havoc
on the F ring.
Prometheus (102 kilometers, or 63 miles across) is visible left of
center in the image, inside the F ring. Pandora (84 kilometers, or 52
miles across) appears above center, outside the ring. The dark shadow
cast by the planet stretches more than halfway across the A ring, the
outermost main ring. The mottled pattern appearing in the dark regions
of the image is 'noise' in the signal recorded by the camera system,
which has subsequently been magnified by the image processing.
The F ring is a narrow, ribbon-like structure, with a width seen in
this geometry equivalent to a few kilometers. The two small, irregularly
shaped moons exert a gravitational influence on particles that make up
the F ring, confining it and possibly leading to the formation of clumps,
strands and other structures observed there. Pandora prevents the F ring
from spreading outward and Prometheus prevents it from spreading inward.
However, their interaction with the ring is complex and not fully
understood. The shepherds are also known to be responsible for many
of the observed structures in Saturn's A ring.
The moons, which were discovered in images returned by the Voyager 1
spacecraft in 1980, are in chaotic orbits--their orbits can change
unpredictably when the moons get very close to each other. This strange
behavior was first noticed in ground-based and Hubble Space Telescope
observations in 1995, when the rings were seen nearly edge-on from Earth
and the usual glare of the rings was reduced, making the satellites more
readily visible than usual. The positions of both satellites at that time
were different than expected based on Voyager data.
One of the goals for the Cassini-Huygens mission is to derive more
precise orbits for Prometheus and Pandora. Seeing how their orbits
change over the duration of the mission will help to determine their
masses, which in turn will help constrain models of their interiors and
provide a more complete understanding of their effect on the rings.
This narrow angle camera image was snapped through the broadband green
spectral filter, centered at 568 nanometers, on March 10, 2004, when the
spacecraft was 55.5 million kilometers (34.5 million miles) from the
planet. Image scale is approximately 333 kilometers (207 miles) per
pixel. Contrast has been greatly enhanced, and the image has been
magnified to aid visibility of the moons as well as structure in the
rings.
The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the
European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion
Laboratory, a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena,
manages the Cassini-Huygens mission for NASA's Office of Space Science,
Washington, D.C. The Cassini orbiter and its two onboard cameras, were
designed, developed and assembled at JPL. The imaging team is based at
the Space Science Institute, Boulder, Colo.

/ It’s been said that the “out of the box” concept was first brought to table by Henry Ernest Dudeney, the British mathematician and a well-known creator of puzzles; he was asked to connect nine dots in a 3x3 formation by just four straight line, Dudeney’s secret was that the answer had to be out of the 3x3 constrain. The accomplishment of solving a puzzle lies within the fact that, rules must not be violated nor ignored; yet passing round after round of obstacles and finally masterfully solving it. Similarly, product design has its own sets of limitations and conditions, certain bravery for breaking the centuries-old rules are required in order to present brand new creative thoughts, further imaginations, inspirations, or even new interpretations may be motivated simply by taking different points of view or moving away from a normal position; however, what’s more interesting that solving puzzles is that design is different from mathematical calculations, everyone has their own methods of solving the problem, even more diverted and unsuspected answers arise. It doesn’t matter if we see such things as elements that are independent yet somehow related to one another, and keep on rearranging or eliminating some factors, or trying to remove the formless frame of our locked-up souls and breaking off the boundaries; or surprise ourselves upon revealing something, just like the way we feel when opening gacha; or like the surprises that lie within a drawing box; or just to empty the “box” to place new things in it, all the above-mentioned behaviors may, in one way or another, guide us to the thinking space outside the usual position, and within the process of placing in, moving out, placing in and moving out again, or in between the obvious/hidden, inner/outer spaces, we get ourselves a chance to take a look at the world we live in with more freedom and grandeur, and no longer fall into the self-blinding world of professionalism.
