Just returned from a 10 day birding trip to Florida. Visited many different locations, saw SO many "firsts", walked 5-8 miles everyday, met a few great photographers along the way. It will take me weeks to get through the thousands of images!

These two were constantly squabbling with each other. They were very noisy!

Inspired by mlindqvist (Magnus) and Riceboy (Marshall). They are both masters at what they do and are constant reminders of my love and passion for photojournalistic photography. I urge you to check out their impressive streams - both are full of breathtaking images!

Thank you both for sharing your collection with us and for being such an incredible source of inspiration!

Aruba, a small island in the Dutch Caribbean off the coast of Venezuela, has a dry climate, sunny beaches and gentle waves. Constant winds produce a cool breeze and tilt trees (like the famous divi-divi) to the southwest. The European influence appears in the architecture, characterized by the Dutch gables painted in tropical pastel tones. This is also evident in the coexistence of the local language, Papiamento, with English, Dutch and Spanish. The country does not have fresh water but it has desalinated water of excellent quality and you can safely drink tap water. The small country is a major producer and exporter of aloe vera (aloe vera) and is strong in the financial and fishing sectors, in addition to logistical services in the oil sector. It is a small island with a lot of sun and wind all the time, which favors the country's main economic activity, tourism. Its area is 179 km2 (69.1 mi2) and is densely populated by approximately 110,000 inhabitants (2020 Census) and has a per capita income of just over US$25,000 p.a. The country's capital is Oranjestad.

kkkk um

The darkness of the horrific harm you’ve experienced tries to completely cover you and somehow you still try to fight it even though you have very little strength left. You work to keep reaching for the light even though it feels impossible and far too painful to do so. Thank you for choosing to stay here, keep breathing and taking steps to engage in this constant, ongoing, painful, extremely exhausting and meaningful battle.

...and almost dead photographer!

It took me nearly 30 minutes to climb the path you see in the bottom right corner. Despite of its look, it's really steep, and with the load of backpack, camera, water, etc... I was constantly held back by the sand: two steps ahead, one back.

You can judge how big this place is by looking at the person on the leftmost part of this image.

New Babylon (1956-1974), a visionary project by Dutch Cobra artist Constant Nieuwenhuys (1920-2005).

Now at the exhibition New New Babylon in Kunstmuseum The Hague NL.

Found this older portrait of dear Caillou that never got posted.

Since he's gone I'm discovering these past photos of him are more important than ever, I really miss the the old rascal

Another lovely barn that appears to still be in use.

Constantly on the move he was feeding on the ground and in the trees.

We were very lucky to have these guys nest again and in shooting range. They are very attentive to the chicks and feed them constantly, and in my humble opinion a great subject to photograph. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

One day old!

Of all the species I've observed so far as 1st instars, these were by far the most active!! All others have generally stayed together, with the eggs, until moulting into their 2nd instars. These were active within 24 hrs, and were constantly on the move in the container I kept them in.

Last Sunday, I decided to release them, as 2 had perished (I hate things dying on me...), and thought they'd have a far better chance of making it in their natural habitat!

No matter how much you try to obtain variety and diversity in life, at some point, there is always a kind of routine monotony spreading around. As it consists of the same processes, tasks, and people, excitement all goes flat little by little.

Looking for variations to bland everyday life can spice up unexceptional experiences. Such an escape from the misery of the constant boring repetition offers the possibility to rediscover yourself. And so, a little more contrast can suddenly create a whole new and exciting perception.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park contains Mauna Loa and Kilauea, two of the world’s most active and accessible volcanoes where ongoing geological processes are easily observed. This property serves as an excellent example of island building through volcanic processes. Through the process of shield-building volcanism, the park's landscape is one of relatively constant, dynamic change. Source: whc.unesco.org/en/list/409

I had hoped the fresh snow would last until after sunset but the warming temperatures had other plans. Shortly after the snowfall ceased during the morning a mass melting occurred as majority of the snow in Yosemite Valley disappeared. Hoping for some light at sunset, Aaron, Zach, and I ended up heading to Tunnel View.

Despite the lack of snow in the valley the emerging fog and clouds filled the foreground and provided some drama in the scene. Dropping afternoon temperatures combined with wetness gave rise to constantly changing fog in the valley. For a brief few minutes the clouds opened up and showed us El Capitan’s face. Although Half Dome never showed itself we were still treated to constantly changing conditions as the fog rolled around in the valley and the low clouds continued smothering El Capitan and Cathedral Rocks.

My image is a record.

Each time the image is created in a different context. It is a state record. A constantly changing dynamic situation in which I try to find myself knowing that the status quo does not exist

This shot was taken right on Hwy 395 going south and looking at Mono Lake north side. The storms were alive throughout the day. This was a big rain and hail shower moving with a great lightning show.

The patch of water has a bit of light from the sun. That would be the same sun that I had hoped for during the day and semi-clear nights that I did not get this trip.

Iceland’s south coast boasts the constantly changing Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, where blue, white, turquoise and black streaked icebergs shift and creak about in an icy dance. The icebergs are 1,000-year-old chunks of the retreating Oraefajokull glacier that have broken off and are floating out to sea. The lake has grown at varying rates because of melting of the glaciers. It is now 1.5 kilometres away from the ocean's edge and covers an area of about 18 km2. It recently became the deepest lake in Iceland, at over 248 metres, as glacial retreat extended its boundaries.

There were many more, but they were scattered amongst the trees and almost constantly on the move.

Went out with my dad to a small waterfall. Although I mainly wanted to find insects and concentrate on macro I did like this shot.

The focus isn't quite there but to hell with the focus and constant pixel peeping!
