Hubby's new listening station in his music room.

Read about on my blog.

A sound console made by Ohio-Sound of the Netherlands, custum made for shops, factory's etc. via Jac van Ham. Ohio Sound console.

The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a medium-sized, solidly built, short haired dog whose early ancestors came from England and Ireland. It is a member of the Molosser breed group. The American Staffordshire Terrier and The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) by breed are from the same lineage; Staffordshire’s was the name given by AKC, and American Pit Bull Terriers by UKC. The real difference between the two breeds is 6–8" in height and 25–35 lb in weight; the American Staffordshire Terrier being the larger of the two.

The dog was bred first to bait bulls and bears. When bear-baiting and bull-baiting were deemed inhumane, rat-baiting and dog fighting became more popular. The APBT Breed was used in both sports, and its prevalence in being put in pits with rats, or other dogs led to "pit" being added to its name.

GONE - This great new piece has a lovely wood top and contrasting raw metal supports that would be perfect as an entryway console all on its own. It's made even more perfect for that use by the 6 crate-like drawers that sit beneath, which have handsome studs on both sides. Because of the height, it could also do very well at the foot of the bed, where extra storage is *always* needed. (Then you could stop putting everything on that chair no one has ever sat on.)

1:6 Scale Model of the Mark 1A Tardis console which first featured in the Jon Pertwee story 'The Claws Of Axos' (1971).

Some of the controls were removed or added during the Pertwee era but this particular variant was used throughout the Third Doctor's tenure.

Neem wood is incredibly durable and strong! This newly constructed console would make an extraordinary presence anchoring a room with a no-nonsense androgynous vibe --- nothing over-the-top or froufrou about it!

Photographs console us in the face of death and oblivion - it's their fundamental gift; they testify to what has been and what will be no more, and this testimony matters. It matters because oblivion is actually more than we can handle; because we get old and lose faith in the quick and competent gods of our childhood; because, unless we deny what our eyes see or turn ourselves into machinery, the future of everything is full of loss and disappearing; because we not only forget but we're also forgotten.

This is the Stanley Islander 19 Dual Console. Could it be the perfect Rabbit Island boat? We're currently searching for a boat for summer 2012 and weighing potential options. Built in Canada near Parry Sound it is specifically designed for use on Lake Huron around the rocky islands of eastern Georgian Bay. It is self bailing (it doesn't even have a bilge!), welded aluminum (as opposed to riveted), low maintenance, tough as nails, no-frills, and efficient... but also very expensive. I drove up to Canada to see it at the Toronto International Boat Show a few weeks ago and fell in love. Does anyone know where we could find one used? If so drop a line. Apparently they are very hard to come by because people hold on to them forever and there are very few that have been imported to the States. Other considerations include a used Boston Whaler Outrage 17, Grady White Sportsman 180, or Lund Alaskan 18. These are somewhat easier to find used but do not have the combination of aluminum construction and self-bailing hull (they are either one or the other). Aluminum seems like it would be much easier to maintain than fiberglass and more practical in situations adjacent to a rocky shoreline should it bump against the rocks or get pulled on shore. Which one would you go with? Other ideas? Post them below or on Facebook.

From the UK, and originally intended to store dishware and cutlery, this console could find a home in many other parts of your flat. It's relatively petite, with compelling details like the handles--squares with cut-out circles. You could even hang the TV over it! This is worth getting creative for!

Vostok Navigation Console,

Each Vostok spacecraft was flown remotely from Mission Control on Earth - the cosmonauts did not control the flight. This console gave the spacecraft's position over the Earth - the small globe rotated as the spacecraft orbited.

Working in a radio studio, this is a detail of an instrument we daily use.

We use this machine to mix the different sounds that have to go to air, like the voice of an announcer and the intro of a song.

Ever since I was a little boy I have been interested in anything radio, and a console like this one still fascinates me to this day.

I set the console to the side to provide better access around it fore and aft. That is a minimal jumpseat for crew that don't feel like standing.

This is one of two consoles.
