A snapshot while driving into the city this morning...

The cardboard pattern I made from tracing off the sides of an original '67 Sport Fury console. The pattern was then transferred to pieces of scrap plywood I had lying around.

The centre console side panels are U shape in profile with the intention of allowing the carpet to tuck behind the front edge. The radius to the front edge should also help with the SVA test

I felt at ease in this small storage room. I'm not sure if it was the soothing color or the angle on the wall creating shadows that shifted as the sun was going down. At any rate, I imagined myself sitting in here watching the shadows as a gently rain bounced off the window…the vision makes little sense now but at that moment….it comforted me.

I've finished foaming and carpeting the front part of the console. It looks ok but not as good as it did in my head. Getting the carpet to fit around the shape was pretty tricky

Under construction is my project studio console. It will house a mackie 8bus, a 8 space rack on the bottom left topped by a 2 space rack. The bottom right will allow for a 4 space rack and room for my wireless mouse and keyboard topped with another 2 space. This console was part of the Australian Xbox.com charity auction called "Konsoles for Kids" to benefit the David Peachy Foundation. The auctions were held between April and July 2010 and 17 consoles were auctioned in total.

Another piece of Cardboard Aided Design... The plan is for the ICE head unit to go in the boot leaving just the facia panel to mount to the centre console (something I once saw on a Ferrari)

1960 Bradford stereo console originally sold in W.T.Grant stores. Purchased from the grand daughter of the original owner. Fully functioning and still has full, rich sound.

All looked except for the hole behind the ashtray. There was a 2 lamp plastic housing sitting underneath it, not sure what it's supposed to indicate. Must be missing a cover.

Our consoles options with different finishes with natural veneer , lacquered Glass , antique mirror is always all time favourite.
