We'd intended to go canoing at Rockwood, but arrived mid-afternoon to discover that the last boats were let out at 1pm, so no canoe for us. =( A real shame, since the area seemed like a nice 'beginner' area in which to practice, and there were some interesting water-level caves only accessible by boat.

Conservation International (CI) enables civil society groups in biodiversity hotspots to conserve their resources and influence the decisions that affect lives and livelihoods -- and, ultimately, the global environment -- for the benefit of us all. As a founding partner of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, CI has supported nearly 1,600 civil society organizations working to protect more than half of the world's biodiversity hotspots -- and more than 1,000 of the most vulnerable and endangered species on the planet.

Spent a couple of days at this ancient hill fort site in the middle of Wimbledon golf course. Clearing and burning gorse to prevent the remaining heather being overwhelmed and give the heather space to grow. It is one of the few areas of acid grasslands still undeveloped in London.

Hm, the sections my sister already glued back together are going to present an alignment challenge for the rest of the fragments. This is the story of conservation: trying to undo other people's repairs and redo them better.
At the turtle conservation project you can see many different species of sea turtles, including Olive Ridley Turtles, Black Turtles, and the highly endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle.
