Situated in the Trinity Chapel (located in the east end of Salisbury Cathedral) this is the Prisoners of Conscience stained glass window, designed in 1980 by Gabrielle Loire from Chartres, France, remembering all prisoners of conscience held in captivity around the world. Unlike all the other stained glass windows in Salisbury Cathedral, which adhere to the classical style of art, these stained glass windows are very "modern" in style.
Viewing these stained glass windows really is a magnificent sight and when you view them for the very first time their beauty literally takes your breath away. Even from a distance they are impressive and eye catching. For example when you stand a considerable distance away in the west end, looking down Salisbury Cathedral's Nave and Quire, their bright blue stands in sharp contrast to the Cathedral's other muted tones.
Note: this is NOT an HDR image, it comes from a single RAW exposure. When I produced some HDR images of this scene last year I was not happy about them and wanted an image which concentrated upon these magnificent windows themselves. This image was taken from right below the windows in my power chair with my Canon 5D and the lens set at around 24mm. The resulting RAW image was processed in Lightroom 1.3 and Photoshop CS3.

Barge Mani (mani stone wall) བར་ གེ་ མ་ནི་ is the longest Mani stone wall in the world ( estemated 1500 m ) ; it's located in Sershul County. Dza Patrul Rinpoche began its construction.
Mani walls
Along the paths of regions under the influence of Tibetan Buddhism the traveller is often confronted with Mani walls. These stone structures are a compilation intricately carved stone tablets, most with the inscription "Om Mani Padme Hum" which loosely translates to "Hail to the jewel in the lotus".[4] These walls should be passed or circumvented from the left side, the clockwise direction in which the earth and the universe revolve, according to Buddhist doctrine.

On nous dit que le monde tourne mal et, de ce fait, on en profite pour nous annoncer des tarifs exorbitants à la pompe ou pour un litre de lait...
On nous demande d'être polyvalents en dépassant largement les compétences pour lesquels nous avons été embauchés, quand on a la chance d'avoir un boulot. Et, on nous demande de passer des tests remontant à une scolarité vieille de 25 ans dans notre tête ( trop peu utilisée ) quand on en recherche un autre...
On oblige nos enfants à rester sur des bancs d'école de plus en plus tard pour qu'ils puissent gagner le smic et on leur dit qu'ils devront cotiser jusqu'à perpète... Car, je suis désolée : un gamin qui poursuit ses études jusqu'à 25 ans ne pourra pas cotiser ses 40 ans pour la retraite, sauf s'il a du bol ;-) !
Et ce gamin acceptera le smic, ce qui mettra mal à l'aise l'ancien, celui qui a 15 ans d'expérience dans un domaine se retrouvant à la recherche d'un emploi. L'ancien devra accepter un salaire de base sinon il passera à la trappe...
On nous dit que le monde tourne mal, alors faudrait qu'on se prépare à manger du bio et des insectes :-) ! Faudrait aussi penser à ingurgiter sa dose d'anti-dépresseur et sa dose de vitamines pour rester dans la norme!!! Et après, on en parlera du « trou » de la sécurité sociale...
On nous dit que le monde tourne mal et on fait étudier nos enfants sur internet dès la première année de collège. A la place d'un livre, on nous file des recherches sur le web... C'est plus mieux, hein ;-) ?
On nous dit que le monde tourne mal et c'est pourquoi, on file des consoles de jeux virtuels à nos enfants. Histoire qu'ils restent à la page ! Parce que si t'as pas l'I-phone ou Facebook, tu es « out »...
On nous dit tant de bêtises... On nous exclut quand on n'est pas « in »... Mais dites-moi pourquoi devrai-je accepter un monde « in » qui tourne mal ?
Je n'ai pas d'I phone ni d'I pad, à peine un portable qui permet des appels téléphoniques. Je n'ai pas de photoshop, juste un programme permettant de lire mes photos en RAW. Je n'ai pas d'écran plasma non plus car mon téléviseur fonctionne encore et je ne vois pas pourquoi je devrai en changer. Je n'ai pas de démarrage automatique, ni d'ABS et encore moins la détection de pluie sur ma voiture vieille de 21 ans. Je ne suis pas contre le progrès, je suis juste contre la société de consommation. Si je n'en ai pas besoin, je ne vois pas pourquoi j'achèterais des trucs « made in China » ou « made in Bengladesh ».
Si je voulais faire du camping, je ne louerais pas un mobilhome ( plus cher qu'un appart ), je louerais un emplacement pour ma tente.
Si je voulais rechercher une information, j'utiliserais des livres, des dictionnaires et je parlerais à des gens compétents si je pouvais encore en trouver...
Mais où va-t-on ? Nous sommes là, à nous plaindre de nos usines fermées et nous achetons du « made in Taïwan » parce que c'est moins cher... Croyez-moi, achetez des produits locaux et de saison pour la nourriture qui sera bien plus saine que les machins en provenance de je ne sais où; achetez des voitures européennes parce qu'elles feront vivre vos voisins proches; cessez d'acheter des bidules inutiles qui ne feront que vous encombrer...
Je suis exaspérée par cette société qui tourne mal ! Nos enfants tournent mal parce que nous avons choisi une facilité qui rend difficile toute proximité. Plus de rapports cordiaux, juste des liens qui vont vers... notre perte !!!
Moi, je veux de l'humain, je veux du réel ! Internet, c'est bien mais à juste dose ! J'en ai assez de tomber sur un amas de pages publicitaires qui s'ouvrent quand je recherche un truc... Puis, internet a grignoté toutes les petites boutiques bien sympas du coin...
Et si notre monde tourne mal, faudrait peut-être penser à redresser la barre plutôt que nous plaindre, non ?
Je n'ai que 34 ans et pourtant, je pourrais paraître « has been »... Et je m'en porte bien ! Je suis ce que je suis, mais moi, j'achète ma viande chez un boucher qui lui-même achète chez les paysans du coin. J'achète du « made in France » quand j'en trouve même si c'est un peu plus cher car je veux que les usines françaises cessent d'être délocalisées dans des pays exploités pour permettre à d'autres ethnies d'être sous-payées...

So I did my very first object-drop-to-water shot :). If you are wondering what this is well, it's a tomato, just turned green because of the green gel from above. The shot was hard because I was the one who dropped the tomato and the camera was set to timing. So I needed to get the right timing to get a very good shot of it. Well luckily it only went to 4 tries.
Ok so let me put it this way, the picture represents a man's character, top level line is straight wherein he calm and stable (the good side) then next level area is full of droplets wherein it depicts his anxieties, problems which brings out anger then the third line is representing his wild side wherein he bursts out with anger and then his burst subsides and he thinks, then understands and then he falls onto the last level of his character which is his conscience. Once his conscience makes him realize that what he does is wrong, he goes back up the lower level, repents and then goes calm again and becomes stable. Well, there comes times wherein he breaks through his conscience wherein that will break his whole character, just like what will happen if the water container here was broken from the lowest level. Well, this picture is simple, but this just shown us the usual characteristic of a man.
By the way, I might not be able to go through your streams later until tomorrow as I will be visiting Malaysia to cover for a colleague's wedding. I'll go visit them once I come back. Wish me luck!
