For as long as I can remember I have been terrified of planes! Just the thought of them would give me goose bumps and the sound of their engine would stop my breath. I used to have nightmares of airplanes crashing into my house, I would have to pull off the highway when I saw them fly over me. (Krysta, I know you are laughing at me). I moved to Charleston, SC after high school. If anyone knows Charleston, you know the of the huge carrier planes that fly incredibly low to the ground. I had a near death experience (or so I thought) my first weekend in Charleston when I thought that a plane was going to crash into my apartment building. I literally dove onto my bed and wedged myself between the mattress and the wall, as if that could somehow save me from the massive blaze that was sure to ravish my building! Well, imagine my embarrassment when my two room mates walked in, they were Charleston natives, and explained that I’d better get used to it, it was just the Air Force carrier jets and happens all day long.
I always told Blake that the only way he would get me on a plane would be on our Honeymoon. So, my first flight was with my new husband headed to my perfect honeymoon. This is a shot from my window seat, it was really quite beautiful. I overcame some of my fears about flying on my trip, but I will not test my luck, and only fly it is a necessity!
