Mainit-Mabugnaw Guadalupe Cave
Upon reaching the site, one sees life-size statues of saints and Christ and crosses strewn all over the area. These are remnants of a plan of former First Lady Imelda Marcos to have these caves transformed into shrines where pilgrims can visit. The statues had been brought thereby by helicopters but in the transport, the icons fell. This is the reason why some parts of these icons are broken. But there are still some statues that are intact. Some are placed inside the mouth of the first cave, kneeling and seeming to await an arrival from above, where light from a rooftop- hole floods the cave. The cave reminds one of a cathedral where birds and bats fly and glide by large stalactites and stalagmites that protrude everywhere. The ground is filled with snails, bird droppings and caterpillar-like creepers that had died and dried up. This cave has three sun-roots where the birds and bats go in and out while a statue of the Sto. Niño guards the place.

The Tower of London is one of London's most popular and iconic tourist attractions. Built by William the Conquerer in the early 1080s the Tower's role has been as a fortress, palace and prison. Many people lost their heads in the Tower and the Prisoners exhibition looks at some of the Towers more infamous inmates including Anne Boleyn, Edward V, Guy Fawkes and Sir Thomas More. The Tower's history as a prison continued during the two world wars and still held executions. Today, the Tower is one of London’s most visited attractions. The Tower of London was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Postcard
A postcard published by C.W. Faulkner & Co. Ltd. of London E.C. They state on the back of the card that it was produced in Great Britain.
Although fulsomely praising General Sir Horace Smith-Dorrien for saving the left wing of the British Army, Sir John French still manages to slide into the narrative that he was in overall command.
If the engagement with the enemy had been a failure, he would have distanced himself from the whole thing. Also there's nothing there about the bravery of the men who fought and died during the battle.
The card was posted in London on Monday the 26th. April 1915 to:
Mrs. Clarke,
3, Newby Street,
Wandsworth,
Clapham,
London.
The message on the back of the card was as follows:
"My Dear Cousin,
Just a few lines in answer
to your PC which I received
quite safe.
I hope you and the children
are alright as it leaves me
at present.
I had a card from Edie.
Tell Tom we shan't be long
and remember me to Will
when you write.
I close with love from
Will".
William Rhodes-Moorhouse
So what else happened on the day that the card was posted?
Well, on the 26th. April 1915, British fighter pilot William Barnard Rhodes-Moorhouse of the No. 2 Squadron was mortally wounded while carrying out a bombing attack on a railway junction at Kortrijk, Belgium and died the next day.
He became the first airman to posthumously receive the Victoria Cross.
I took this while jumping of the 007 Bungee Jump, the world’s most famous bungee jump in the Swiss Alps. This was 750ft free-fall, and the second highest jump in the world. It is something that will give you a whole new perspective on Adrenaline.
