The full moon at sunrise.

“I don't want anybody to stand between the individual and existence. No prayer, no priest -- you alone are enough to face the sunrise.”

Two rivers: a smaller one, the Loing, and a larger one, the Seine (which will later run through Paris) meet in the small town of Saint-Mammès. A flourishing community of mariners has set up shop in this hub of fluvial transport, with some bristling new motor barges, and some pretty old ones too...

Strictly speaking a confluence is a meeting of rivers/streams, but here I see a meeting of streams of air between closely packed buildings in a crowded London.

I look forward to returning here with my fish-eye lens.

Confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers, Canyonlands National Park, Utah. This also marks where the three districts of the park, Island in the Sky, Needles, and the Maze, come together. The Confluence demarcates the beginning of Cataract Canyon, where the Colorado River, comparatively placid upstream of this point, becomes rather more "exciting" for river rafters.

“…like everything we see it was the great and eternal made visible: a confluence of opposites, their fusing together in the fire of reality. It meant nothing, was a call to nothing; or, rather, it meant everything-it meant the mystery of existence and it was beautiful, it was happiness and meaning, a gift and a discovery for anyone who saw it, like an earful of Bach or an eyeful of Cézanne.”

Confluence of the Chuya and Katuni rivers. The confluence of rivers, especially mountain rivers, is a special source of energy

This shot looks out across the Mare Island salt flats towards the confluence of the Carquinez Strait and the San Pablo Bay at the northern end of the San Francisco Bay at sunset. The marine layer (also known as the San Francisco fog) was rolling over the mountain tops on the opposite shore. It was shot from the same location as the image I posted below in the first comment... just turned further to the right and zoomed in.

Transformation of our identify is the confluence of ideas that we embrace as worthy.

Country Australia at its best with the rivers full of water.

This is the junction of Castle Creek and the Dawson River in the town of Theodore in Central Queensland.

The spit of land between the two water courses is a "free camp" for those in caravans and motor homes and a very pleasant spot. At the time of our visit, New South Wales and Victoria were in long COVID lockdowns and Queensland was bursting at the seams with its own travelling populace plus many who were up here for winter and didn't want to go home to those lockdowns.

Out of sight beside and behind me are great lines of parked up vans and motor homes filled mainly with golden oldies or grey haired nomads, both of which my wife and I are. We just don't own a van.
