Air conditioning units sprout from every older building - it must've been pretty uncomfortable in New York during the summer in the fifties … hence the film The Seven Year Itch.
This mansion, located at 737 Buena Vista Avenue West in the Upper Haight section of San Francisco, was the home of sugar baron Richard Spreckels, a nephew of Claus Spreckels and kin of the notorious Adolph Spreckels, Jr. The work of architect Edward J. Vogel, this house was built in 1887 and later occupied by such luminaries as Jack London, Ambrose Bierce (said to have lived in apartments on the top floor) and, actor, Danny Glover. This boxy, putty-colored Victorian, easily the most ornate structure in the area, is today a private home and in mint condition.

July 20th 1969. The day man landed on the Moon! Picked up a Photo Pennant *also seen in this album and the bobble-head. Walter "No-Neck" Williams no. 3 singled weakly up the middle for the White SOX and got to first base. The crowd went wild with a standing ovation. He looked confused why? The Sox First base Coach pointed at the SOX-O-GRAM on the scoreboard. It read "They ARE ON the MOON!" We all went wild and cheered. The fireworks went off in celebration that they usually reserve for Home Runs. Then a Prayer was read over the Loud-Speakers for their continued safety. The (scene) itself was used on video for a PBS show about that Moon Shot. It showed people around the planet watching TVs waiting for the landing. It quickly showed Comiskey Park in Chicago, they had video of the Fireworks going off and the Prayer. It's also found on YouTube by searching "White Sox Game during Apollo 11 Moon Landing - July 20, 1969" We still have both souvenirs today in 2023. Someone mentioned once they like the (Table) the Bobble-Head is on. It's NOT a Table. It's the top of my LEGACY 1993 Signature III Speakers from Legacy Audio Springfield IL. That's Walnut with Dark Cherry Stain, almost looks like Persimmon wood to me in some places. A great Speaker Hi-End Audio Company - legacyaudio.com/

There are lots of abandoned buildings around Tenerife's northern valleys and, given the fertility of the area, roofs very quickly become just another surface for plants to grow on. I think the result is quite picturesque, in its own deconstructed and decaying manner.

The wasp was acting as a natural air-conditioner, apparently they get their wings wet and then beat them to cool the air over the nest.

Here we have the bottom and front view of the kit. The bottom view shows that the box is still in great condition. Not only is it fairly clean, but the tape around it has only been slightly damaged. The front view shows the CD sign for the United States Department of Civil Defense. The sign is a universal sign for civil defense and therefore would be easily recognized by users of many nationalities. Notice the writings specifying the lack of narcotics in the box as well as the role of the box as providing "survival" supplies. The front view also specifies this box as "Medical Kit C," implying the existence of other survival kits, possibly including a survival food kit, for example.
1992 Bayliner Trophy 2359 in great condition. One owner boat with rebuilt Mercruiser 350 with 100 hrs. New outdrive with one year old bellows and gimbal bearing. The Air Conditioner blew a capacitor last night- not fun whatsoever. Tonight it feels better, but it’s still trying to come down. It’s 85 degrees inside but still over 100 degrees outside. Ouch…
