Here, we are looking over towards Mt Baker in Washington State, USA from beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’),she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.
The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792. Also known by the Lummi as Kwud-Shad, and Koba (meaning 'high mountain always covered with snow', was the Skagit name.

This mall had a touch of Taubman-style design, no? This entire area of the mall is closed off to any patronage and I didn't have the drive to step over the line and investigate.

The West Concourse linking the PATH station at WTC (still under construction) with Battery Park City opened on Tuesday, October 22. These photos of the marble-lined walkway designed by Santiago Calatrava are from a few days later.

We took an express train instead of a local so we had to go back in this almost empty B train from 125th to 81th Street.
B (New York City Subway service)
The B Sixth Avenue Express is a rapid transit service in the B Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is colored bright orange since it uses the IND Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan. The B only operates on weekdays except nights. On middays and evenings, the B operates between 145th Street in Harlem, Manhattan and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn via Central Park West Local, the north side of the Manhattan Bridge, and Brighton Express. During rush hours, the B is extended to and from Bedford Park Boulevard in the Bronx via Concourse Local.

KLCC central concourse - An HDR of the interior with the usual promotional central kiosk at the weekend. Hdr tonemapping to capture the warm colours. Subtle Orton effect to capture the neutral subdued tones of the shopping mall.
West Coast Railways 37706 brings in the ECS towards the waiting crowd for Pathfinder's return Jolly Whistler railtour, 1Z38 1700 to Crewe, at Skegness on 27th July 2024. The train had been delayed initially by a points failure in the sidings and then a problem in its booked platform with an earlier East Midlands service.
As a result a 68 minute late start was suffered. More to the point, we could have had another beer in the pub we vacated rather than waiting on the concourse!
