Hugely inspired by the porcelain concept arts of Sheng Lam. I planned to make this last year but never got the push to start. Really glad I had that push now. And better late than never, here's my share for Marchikoma 2022!
Second post for this year hahahaha
I just got on board an NU-class shuttle when the lights started flashing. A message was broadcasted.
//The message\\
Thousands of troopers are being deployed across the planet of BATUU. We have been ordered to use all means necessary to assist locals who were plagued with the lies of the Jedi Order. Many of the locals embraced the truth, but some were reluctant to accept it. They believe that these traitors, the people who attempted to assassinate His Lordship, were war heroes, people of wisdom, and their saviors.
The Empire will provide security to the planet, and will not hesitate to use all its resources to help this planet break free of the deceptions of the false Knights!
BATUU
The transport dropped us beside a large town. The warm air filled my lungs as we entered the main gate of the town. Locals stared at us while we marched through the snaking pathways, marking every Jedi statue. People started whispering. I overheard one, they were trying to find out what we were doing with these monuments. One local gathered enough courage to ask. He said: “Sir, what is going to happen to these statues?” The general replied: “The Jedi have committed treason against His Lordship, so they will no longer be respected.” The man looked confused. He shrugged and walked away.
//End of story\\
Hey guys! This MOC was such a pain to build. I started this right after Christmas, and i'm really glad I finished it! I spent most of the time waiting for BrickLink orders, and looking at different concept arts and MOCs of Batuu for inspiration.
The round building was inspired by Dewback Bricks' Black spire MOC, and the red tent was taken from the Batuu collab that a bunch of talented builders participated in.
You can check Dewback bricks' here: www.flickr.com/photos/187713679@N06/

Anyways, have a great day!

“All strive for victory. But not all understand what it truly is. To a soldier or pilot on the line, victory is surviving the current battle. To a politician, victory is an advantage one can bring to a bargaining table. To a warrior, victory is driving an enemy from the field of battle, or bringing him to surrender.
Sometimes victory is greater than the warrior could ever hope for. Sometimes it is more than he is able to hear.”
- Thrawn
It all started almost two months ago with an idea. Make something for May 4th (I’m late, I know, but cut me some slack). Me and Jan, the Creator are both big fans of the Imperial architecture seen in the Star Wars universe and wanted to do something large in size. After some hours of researching, looking through many concept arts and designs, the plans were put together and we set out to build our creations.
~ Platform ~
The starting point for me here was the platform on which the custom Tie Fighter (designed by Jerac) and many minifigs are standing on. One piece of concept art / Imperial structure we found was a large landing platform on Kashyyyk. To get the shaping right, a combination of corner slopes, hinges and many larger tiles were used to get the look. Since the surrounding area was to be terrain, I went with Dark Orange as the color for the ground. I purposefully left this area more flat and basic to leave attention towards the base. I also wanted a small area below the platform to store speeders which also helps break up the bottom area, giving it some action.
~ Base ~
The base itself was built in two main sections and some medium sized segments at the top. Walls here uses various tiles in LBG and DBG to form this Imperial architecture design. Was quite a challenge later on with the lack of tiles in certain areas so I had to get creative in how I would spread them. Instead of just using regular tile, I also made use of sandwhich tiles, corner faucet cut tiles and some snot to built up this area. Lots of other elements were used for detail including some DBG frames that I attached to tiles to create this column in the middle wall. The key thing while working on this was to keep a balance of simplicity and detail, something that can get lost while working on a larger creation. As we get to the top, you can see more detail and extras, like crates and dishes that populate this area.
~ Minifigs ~
The last thing I want to discuss is the minifigs used throughout the build. The Imperial selection of officers, troopers and crew is very extensive so once again, keeping a balance was important. Me and Jan wanted to include characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Moff Tarkin to give these creations a bit more purpose. Perhaps they’re here to inspect something new, here for a strategy session, the point is these two give a presence, even with being two small minifigs. The Death Troopers additionally work well to complement those, giving you once again the feeling that there are things at work here.
Thank you to CTR Bricks for helping edit the picture.
If you like this build, consider tapping the fave button ever so slightly and if you’re feeling like doing a bit extra, follow me here. Thanks!

Recreation of one my favorite star wars concept arts, a tribute to Ralph McQuarrie's work. A shot I had in mind for a long time.. Purist MOC minifigs. Will be happy for any feedback and comments.
"Deak Starkiller’s confrontation with Darth Vader showcases the sheer size of the villain, who completely dwarfs his opponent. McQuarrie’s interpretation of the villain’s presence even makes the ship surrounding him feel smaller. In later drafts, Starkiller became Skywalker, but this image shows that both characters utilized breathing apparatuses to make transitioning from ship to ship a much easier process. The look of Starkiller was heavily changed, but other than rounding out some sharper angles, this image represented Vader so powerfully that very little modifications were necessary to bring him to life on screen." - starwars.com
SKYTOPIA is a fantastic world above the clouds.
The people there travel with pimped out motor planes, but also with airworthy ships. With these they jet between narrow, spear shaped mountains, which are surrounded by a dense cloude cover.

Ghost Rider
-The only thing I changed on my original Ghost Rider fig was his head and I altered his chain whip. I'm in love with this one the most. He definitely deserves a hellbike.
Deadpool
- I jacked Deadshot's torso and legs for DP. I found um rather fitting for my universe. I thought this looked best compared to some sketch ideas of my own and some other concept arts I've seen online. I think he looks badass, but he's still open for improvements.
The Punisher
-I based this look of my costume I made last year. I wanted him to look more tactical and ultimately more fearsome. The chainsaw shotgun will definitely make scum wish they'd been wearing their brown pants.
What do you guys think?

This bending chess game space inspired by some concept arts from the doctor strange movie, as an interior designer, I always appreciate the concept of exploring space beyond imagination, and it’s a very good practice for me to discover the possibilities of creating a space.
i miss playing with cinema 4d, it's been a month since open the program. think i'm getting rusty. :(
Built from the MIDI Falcon, my first attempt at replicating a design, and the limited parts made it more challenging.
Here's the concept arts that I based it off of.
Thirty years ago, in 1989, was released "The Abyss" movie by James Cameron. I was thrilled since first time I saw, finding the story amazing, played by an exceptional cast and characterized by amazing special effects and perfect music! After watching movie too many times (I still own VHS), in my mind were impressed concept arts of Ron Cobb, in particular the mini submarines realized by production as real models (in scale and 1:1) for underwater shooting.
So I decided to rebuild Flatbed and Cab1 submarines in Lego to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of movie's release.
Technically submarines are slightly oversized to make the best use of some sloped and round bricks and colors are not 100% like original (due to the lack of Lego palette) but models still recognizable!
I added some details that surely enthusiasts will enjoy like radio inside the cockpit of Flatbed which Lieutenant Hiram Coffey will break with a elbow nudge during submarine duel, canopy with adhesive strips to recreate original frame and the DPV (diver propulsion vehicle) on frontside of Cab1 used for rotation in water.
The minifigures of Dr. Lindsey Brigman behind the spherical porthole of Cab1 and of Navy Seal team commander Lieutenant Hiram Coffey at the control of Flatbed, could not miss in cockpits of submarines.
I present both submarines in sailing trim, suspended on deep seafloor, dark and rocky, almost wasteland, as featured in the movie.
With these two mocs I want to celebrate the anniversary of this brilliant and strangely underrated (compared to others) masterpiece of sci-fi genre directed by James Cameron.
I hope the AFOL community likes it and that brings to discover (if ever seen before) this movie!

I decided to spend more time doing Concept Art in 2016.
All of it, along with extra views and closeups and also architectural renders, will be posted on www.renderstorm.fr so make sure you follow renderstorm on facebook if you don't want to miss any, as not all of these will be posted on Flickr :

Back in the 1980s Don Bluth, The man behind such classics such as "The Land Before Time", " An American Tail", "All Dogs Go to Heaven", "Anastasia, and "Thumbelina" was planning on making two animated movies. The first was called "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" based on the Norwegian folktale of the same name en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_of_the_Sun_and_West_of_the_Moon but was never made due to financial problems. He was also planning on doing his take on the classic French fairy-tale "Beauty and The Beast" but was never made either. These are concept arts for both movies, and it make me wonder "Wouldn't it have been awesome if these movies where made" and it also makes me think that there are some many unused fairy-tales, folk tales, legends, myths, etc that Disney can turn into animated movies that can bring them back to their glorious "Renaissance Days" especially after the success of "Frozen".

As the time for the day of new Cinderella release drew near, I want to share with you a few concept arts to the original 1950 film. Looking at some of them it seems to me that the creators of the new film was heavily inspired by these sketches.
So anyone here is another contest im gonna explain badly
so i had this idea for a contest type thing were its based of of concepts like something that isnt or what could of been like the James Cameron spider-man movie that never was or the star wars fan-fic books with Mara Jade or (as seen here) batman project sabbath the canceled 5th Arkham game or just fan art online of actors playing a certain character like Jason Momoa as Kraven literally anything like that NO doing What If though because reasons

It's been a while since my last Crusader upload and (after a dozen or so of them built) I decieded to show you this one... Not sure why exactly, it's actually one of the most simple among them. And it looks like a giant cockroach with a cannon. Inspired with some really old concept arts of mine (yeah, I was a weird kid).

Above are some concept arts (Sorry, they're very sketchy. I know.) for characters I came up with as a little special Halloween treat for you. Which of them will be made into an actual figure is in your hands!
How:
Comment "A" for Jack-O-Lantern Bane! He will have a sculpted head and special Venom fuse...
Comment "B" for Spooky Deathstroke! He would come with a glow-in-the-dark head half, torn armour and a green arrow in the back...
The Villain that gets the most votes until 12:00 midnights on October the 30th will be made into a figure as part of this years Halloween special! As votes I only count comments with just the respective capital letter ("A") or that plus the prefix "I vote for". Of course, general feedback on what you like or dislike is still welcome! Have fun, I'm excited to see who I'll eventually make.

This story arc takes place in a parralel Calliversum in which I plan to release all my crazy ideas and fantasies. It's the world where scrapped concept arts come to life and 100% unrealistic ideas make 100% of the population. Prepare for a load of bullshit, and possible a load of fun.
But I warn you... If you love the rational and historically accurate; don't read posts titled "parrallel Calliversum" from today on. You might see ninja aided by victorian age spies and cowboys as they send a load of steam-powered cyborg zombies to Hades with WW1 weaponry and shuriken, only to follow them to hell and fight greek gods. You were warned.
Following a same simple pattern I tried design many dresses or combinations for women fighters or princesses. They were done in 2003. I used a mix of pencils, markers and for some even nail polish.
I plan use some of them soon in MOCs.
Jackie Cruz-Alvarez as La Esmeralda from Disney's the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I wanted to add her Essie (what I call the character) to my series ever since I saw it., and I was photographing her for Believe, so I thought why not?
It was great; at Supercon, Kellie - who posed for me first as Esmeralda - complimented (loves) Jackie's costume.
The dancing scene is a photo I wanted to make for a long time now. It didn't turn out how I hoped it would be 2 years ago from my concept arts, but it'll do!

Ever since I fell in love with Les Miserables, the novel and the musical, I've always wanted to create a piece of art work from it. The work I want to create the most is Emile Bayard's drawing of Cosette.
Tis such a famous drawing too, it was used as the musical's logo.
I spent months preparing this shoot.
I drew concept arts over and over, drew the costume design (which interested Mr. Zembuch). I worked so much on it.
Zembuch story. I was sitting in lunch. He was talking to everyone, I was sitting with everyone. He saw it and asked what it was, and we had a quick small talk about it. Anna (posed as Alice) was so excited to hear that I am doing a Les Miserables image. She asked me who is going to be Cosette. I said "Brittany King."
I didn't even ask Brittany yet, I was interested in her. Anna said that I made the perfect choice.
Every 6th hour, I would just sit and stare at Brittany. Observing how she smiles, the details of her face, how she moves. Seems weird, but I want my Cosette to be perfect even though it's only going to be one photograph.
Brittany was/is very pretty. She bears a strong resemblance to the Bayard drawing and to Katie Hall (who was one of the actresses portrayed as Cosette in the musical and the 25th concert). So that's why I want Brittany to be my Cosette, no one else. I didn't even think of any understudy. I asked her one day through a note, and she agreed to play my Cosette. I had to be flexible with her schedule as she was a student athlete. Fine by me!
Cosette's broom is the biggest prop I have ever created. It was twice my height. It took me months to create it from a palm tree, leaf thing. I bled so many times from splinters as I only had time to create it in the dark of the night (with little lighting). The day of the shoot, I took it out and hid it behind the church by SPHS. After school, I found it in there dumpster broken in half. That explained the dark crack you see on the broom above Brittany's arm. Santiago had to hold it up for me. Afterwards, I thew the broom somewhere in the park. It was all natural, so it's not damaging to the environment.
Cosette's costume is a variation of my White Dress. The White dress had been reassembled numerous times for different projects. Cinderella, Thumbelina, The Studio Room, Hamlet's Ophelia, etc. This is one of the versions. I ripped it even more, and dded in more dark fabric. I had the hat already. The dress was a perfect fit on Brittany.
For the makeup, I didn't really show the original drawing and my concept to Becky. I explained to her how Cosette looked, an she did it. Cosette was an abused child. So obviously she's covered in bruises. Her bruises never healed as she was always hit, so she was always bloody. Somewhere along that line.
As for the lighting, I am a natural light photographer. I don't use artificial lighting that much. I work with what I have (if can afford artificial lighting, ohohoho, the things I'd do...). The light was blocked on the right side of the photograph with Ana's body standing there. It was dark behind Brittany already, with the addition of the white backdrop, Brittany's clothes also popped out. Every lighting you see on the model here is all actual. I don't edit light.
I had Anahita and Becky hold up the white backdrop as Santiago hold up the broom. Meanwhile the fog machine would blow smoke everywhere (one of the staff thought there was a fire). Then I had the white sheet covered up Becky while she holds the burning fog machine behind Brittany. We all finished all by 3:30.
