Every day patterns around London

This reminded me a little of Dante's Inferno.

Love the use of lighting on these concentric floors at the Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin.

A concentric built structure in Hamburg. This day I met Andreas Mundt, Chris J., Heiko Röbke and Norbert Wegner. Thanks for the nice, but too short day :)

Fish jumping in Mobile bay, I was just a little slow .I missed the fish but I think it it still worth sharing.

The Felice Varini Concentric Yellow Circles art installation really worked and we could see how the aluminium strips were peeling harmlessly off the walls. To the Telegraph, Daily Mail and other frothing at the mouth objectors (many of whom probably were deluded enough to vote for brexit) I would say "Grow up, no damage done, this was visually impressive and remember Carcassonne was rebuilt in the 1800s".

Carcassonne (Occitan: Carcassona : Latin: Carcaso) is a French fortified city in the department of Aude, in the region of Occitanie. A prefecture, it has a population of about 50,000. Inhabited since the Neolithic period, Carcassonne is located in the Aude plain between historic trade routes, linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean sea and the Massif Central to the Pyrénées. Its strategic importance was quickly recognized by the Romans, who occupied its hilltop until the demise of the Western Roman Empire. In the fifth century, it was taken over by the Visigoths, who founded the city. Its strategic location led successive rulers to expand its fortifications until the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659. Carcassonne is the largest walled city in Europe (among those that have their defensive wall still intact). Its citadel known as the Cité de Carcassonne, is a medieval fortress dating back to the Gallo-Roman period, and was restored by the theorist and architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1853. The Basilica of Saints Nazarius and Celsus (French: Basilique des Saints Nazaire et Celse) is a Roman Catholic minor basilica located in the citadel of Carcassonne, France. It is a national monument, and is in the Gothic-Romanesque architectural tradition. It has been added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997. Consequently, Carcassonne relies heavily on tourism but also counts manufacture and wine-making as some of its other key economic sectors. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcassonne

I'm confused. Or more accurately, I am concentrically confused, and sometimes a little cloudy as well.

'Roid Week 2012 Day 4 - 2

Me with in me within me.

There's some kind of philsophical gobbledybabble in there, but I'm just too tired to figure it out.

Fireplaces in a series of walls in the largest room at Fort Warren. It must have been nice to go in there on a raw day with cold rain blowing off the ocean.

Using a 16:9 cinematic crop here to really emphasise my wide angle shot taking in the concentric circles of the paving blocks in St Enoch Square, just as the rather eccentric looking gentleman walks across the scene.

The red-knobbed coot is largely black except for the white frontal shield. There are two tiny red knobs at the top of the facial shield, which is not visible at any great distance and are only present in the breeding season. The red-knobbed coot is reluctant to fly and when taking off runs across the water surface with much splashing. The red-knobbed coot is an omnivore and will take a variety of small live prey including the eggs of other water birds. It is an aggressive species and strongly territorial during the breeding season.

I have been fascinated with shots of spiral staircases on Flickr and have always wanted to shoot one myself. Luckily, there is a not-so-fancy staircase in the office where I currently work. So, one fine evening, took 3 bracketed shots with Sigma 10-20mm lens and processed them with SNS HDR.

Wishing you all a great day/evening!
