Inspired by growth and expansion, more specifically growing out of oneās skin. Reminiscent of the texture and contrast of volcanoes and molten lava, and by a photograph I took of a black charred stump in Australia left with the delightful treasures of three cicada skins.
As you can see it was *cheap* at $1, took it apart carefully, saved all the pieces. There will be some cutting with the dremel later

Yeah - I had a bit of a cold while I was working on this (as can be seen by the tissues liberally littered about)
Upcycled cedar green laptop circuit board in a 2.2 cm heart shape is accented by 2 teal green resistors and attached to a 18 inch green stainless steel chain cord with screw closure. Circuit boards are cut, ground smooth on the edges and sealed with acrylic water-based sealant.

So to get the CD/DVD armature to sit nicely I had to grind off the right eye, as can be seen here. Not a lot to comment on other than that. I'm *sure* there's some people out there, about now, screaming bloody murder, unethical treatment of stuffed cute furry things, etc. Really I'm sorry, and I have a deep respect for stuffed animals, (owning more than my fair share) but that said, this is for SCIENCE!

I created this birthday present for my wife. I wanted to make something unique and original. I had this idea to use old computer parts (I am software engineer) to make the messages that express my feelings to her through these pictures. I used about 15 old laptops and two desktops. The implementation was quite simple, I had to disassemble mostly keyboards, CPUs, fans, power supplies, connectors and cut some cables. Then I just glued it to frames to create the messages.
