The wooden door at the rear is the entry to the main room. The large, multiple disk rotating memory unit is in the foreground. The joystick on the LDS-1 table at the right of the picture was hand made in a Princeton University machine shop. This was the era before commercial video games were available, and joysticks for computers were not inexpensive off-the-shelf items. The circular clear-plastic objects in front of the joystick are 3-D Lorgnettes, which blanked out one eye after the other as a disk rotated inside. This, when synchronized with the display, produced better headaches than 3-D images.

Gran Turismo Omologata (or GTO), words synonymous with high-end, limited-production performance cars made by Ferrari, awed enthusiasts around the world with its impeccable standards of quality materials and technical engineering; not to mention its racing pedigree.
We have seen a recent GTO, in the form of the 599 GT and since, Ferrari introduced a more controversial replacement for the well-liked grand-tourer; in the form of the ‘FF’ shooting brake (or breadvan). The response was split, some say its ‘cool’, others’ disagreed. Hence, I decide to thread the thin line of contention to create a high-performance variant of the FF.
Here it is, the Ferrari FF GTO Concept.
I have managed to enlarge the front-bumper air intake, create an additional front fender vent for engine-ventilation, surrounding it with CF (carbon-fiber) trim and top it off with a CF-styled glasshouse.
Since Ferrari has begun production of the FF, the GTO shooting break could be its final calling card (well, my two cents).
I would like to listen to your views. Should Ferrari develop the FF GTO?
The two bays of the LDS-1 computer are in the background of this view. In front of the LDS-1 graphics computer is the single CRT display and a TTY terminal tied to the PDP-10. The PDP-10 ran programs that instructed the LDS-1 on what to display.
Nine images are taken with a camera fixed on a tripod, rotated a small amount each time, such that all images overlap with other images. We compute homographies that relate these images to each other, and use these homographies to form a panorama, based on the center image's view.

Was trying to see how to smoothly grade color with a computer application which only
allows a couple of hundred colors. Worked well enough that I thought I'd post it.
The Ampex Video Art (AVA™) video graphics system was the first video paint system allowing a graphic artist, using an electronic pen, to illustrate in a new medium, video. This innovation predated the Quantel Paintbox by at least 4 years, but was not widely adopted by broadcasters.

This step was done in GIMP. Although this method can be easily done in MS Paint, the vessel's label will get completely distorted upon scaling.

The Great Stellated Dodecahedron is composed of twelve pentagrams. The Pythagorean graftal procedure has been applied eight levels deep to each pentagram of the Great Stellated Dodecahedron. The outer structure indicates additional, interior parallel planes into which a space-frame structure could be continued.
