Firsflook is the gaming and pop culture event of the Benelux where the latest games, gadgets and hardware shown for the first time to the Dutch and Belgian players and where all aspects of "nerd culture" are offering. Think of Cosplay, eSports, and (for the first time in 2016) Comic artists and a huge marketplace.

Here's map at end of game. As you can see, England does not have a single new world province.

Even more random death from above...

This starts to get very tedious after a short while. And I used to think the air power in BF2 was over-powered!

Fantasy Art and Portraits showcases the art from fantasy computer games. We feel Art Lovers shouldn't have to buy and play games just to enjoy great art. It is our mission to bring the art of computer games to Art Lovers who might otherwise miss it.

And because computer games offer the chance to enter the artist's vision, play around with it, and make your own pictures, this is also a site for Writers looking for cover art and Roleplayers looking for portraits for their characters.

Not sure where this was taken...Quakecon 06 maybe?

Everyone's a critic!

Above can be seen my range instructor, who - to be fair - was not as full-on 'Gung-Ho' and stereotyped as the 'Gunny' I had in Americas Army 3.

In fact, this early 'Boot Camp' section of ArmA2 - naturally - follows the same format as AA3's basic training, with the exception of vehicle training and a live fire exercise against fellow troops. (Though had ArmA2 been strict in it's adherence to 'realism' the live fire MOUT section should have been done with laser simulation equipment - that would have been a nice touch.)

As you can see, the level of detail here is superb and I'm not even running a brand new or highly spec'd PC. All this is on a 'medium' setting, and it ran very smoothly - unlike ArmA1!

I have written down some very brief initial thoughts about the game here: Milgeek's ArmA2 early impressions

For a couple of years in the early 90s I created pixelly 'sprite' illustrations for Total! magazine, dedicated to computer gaming. Here's the free badge that came with one issue, featuring the constantly bemused Andy and Steve.

The artwork was created using Deluxe Paint... on an Amiga 500!
