INVICTA Super Waterproof

This is the compressor rack we borrowed from Kent Tech. They are dBX 266 dual gate/compressors. We compressed all of the mics, as well as the roaming mic and the feed coming from the stage.

he new SILVER compressors are fully enclosed (<67 db/a noise levels) and feature TEFC drive motor, WYE Delta Starter, ASME coded air receiver, and synthetic compressor lubricant as standard equipment. The SILVER compressors, in the new compact and reliable version, are easy to transport and to install.

Piston ring compressor on the piston, clamping the rings in place. Oiled up and ready to go, but caution, the edge is sharp!

A huge compressor found in an old rundown industrial site.

 

Before returning my rented wide-angle lens, after a cloudy weekend, I had to photograph something, anything, and this is the result. For once, I wish I owned a red car!

 

But...the point of the photo is this: This is an HDR from 3 exposures, tone mapped in Photomatix Pro. Previously, I had always used Details Enhancer as everyone else seems to do. But this often produces an image without highlights or shadows at all. Flat. So this time I tried using one of the two alternatives: Tone Compressor. At least on this image, it worked much better: highlights and shadows, with details, the goal of HDR processing. Fusion Exposure also produced good results on this image.

 

So, when using Photomatix Pro, always try tone mapping with details enhancer, with tone compressor, and fusion exposure directly, to see which works best on that particular image!
