A little Dahlia bloom captured with a Lensbaby. This is the JPG, straight-out-of-the-camera at maximum size with no cropping. I did add more compression to make the file size a bit smaller.

Even here in the south it gets cold and wet. Hot chocolate is something to look forward to when it's dreary outside. This one has cinammon and marshmallows. How do you make yours?
The used lens also was an imperfect one compared to Nikons Z-lenses: Lensbaby ComposerProII with Sweet 50 Optics and additional close-up-lens.
Coneflowers are popping out everywhere now. Here’s a cluster of them captured with a Lensbaby Sweet 50 optic set at F4.0.

A Lensbaby shot of a white daisy with the lens of the Sweet 50 opened-up almost all the way. Despite their small physical stature, daisies are one of the largest plant families in the world and make up about 10% of the world’s total flowering plant population.

My first stab with a Lensbaby Sweet 50 from earlier this morning. In this capture I used F4, no bend and no marco lens or extension tubes. Not too bad. I did add a light touch of a textured vignette in post-processing to complement the artsy effect of the lens.

When you need some time, take it. When you need a treat, have it. The days can be long but life is so short. Enjoy it!
A patch of purple coneflowers in full bloom, reach for the sky. Photographed with a Lensbaby Sweet 50 at the maximum aperture. This JPG is straight out of the camera. The only alteration I made is adding some additional compression to make the file size smaller so the image would load faster.

A beautiful lily photographed at the Des Moines Botanical Center with a Lensbaby Sweet 50. I used F5.6 on this shot with no bend or macro lens/tube. I lost some sharpness on the tips of the stamen, but I still thought it was a decent photo.

A Lensbaby photo taken in the summer of 2024 at the Enabling Garden in Altoona, Iowa. I had a slight bend ‘up’ on the lens that focused on the red flowers in the back. I did color-pop that high center area and also increased the contrast equalization a bit using a mask in Darktable. I think this was my very first attempt at bending or tilting the lens with the Composer Pro II.

A Lensbaby photo of a beautiful red Garden Dahlia after a thunderstorm, photographed at the Enabling Garden in Altoona, Iowa. Typically, I process the RAW file, but this is the JPG, straight-out-of-the-camera without any cropping. I did reduce the photo’s overall size and added some compression to make the file smaller.
