Here it is. Some how I find I am not totally convinced my partner will love it. Why is it we second guess ourselves? I think it is fun in it's simplicity and movement, but I feel it is not my best work and that is why at some point I may make my second choice.. and see if that provokes a more positive response.

Nothing amazing when it comes to the composition. Just held in the hand, some nice light and the spectacular colour and complexity of an autumn leaf.
Beginning a new little series showing the intricated details of this variety of Iris (different from the Iris of my previous up-load),
grown and blossomed for the very first time in my garden.

This cave system has all manner of fussy detail and strange textures.
Believing each simple thing passes from a perception that is less clear
into one that is, eventually, more clear. Believing each simple thing contains
within it a minimal unity beyond which whatever else can be
exists. That the two seeds, or four seeds, are where the pear will go and where
it began. . . .
—from "Pear," by Susan Stewart
It seems amazing that things as simple as pears can be so complicated. "That the two seeds, or four seeds, are where the pear will go and where it began" seems understandable. But what complexity it has! From seed, to tree, to bud, leaf, and flower, to pear, involves so much. The mind wants simplicity, understanding, but things are never as simple as they seem. Or maybe they are? Pears are delicious, are they not? Perhaps that's all we need to know. Simple.

There is beauty in intricate complexity, since the very beginning the universe progresses towards complexity. The Earth started as a naked sphere of molten rock, now billions of diverse Lifeforms and complex geology/geography cover the entire planet.

I liked this video... it gets things spot on...
“Simplicities are enormously complex. Consider the sentence "I love you".”

簡單的,看似複雜;
也許,複雜的,其實也可以很簡單。
總是說著自己討厭複雜,
也許,我並沒那麼討厭....

Purposely kept this composition 'busy' to reflect the complexity of modern life, as seen by the young (overwhelming for adults, imagine what the world seems like to them).
And no, I'm not a Luddite.
Found some TMY-2 in the freezer that I didn't know I had in 120, so grabbed the 6x9 and went out to the local park. The day was relatively overcast but still bright enough in the AM. I do like this combination of the neg size and the Fuji lens and developer.
This diptych shows a variety of Bearded Iris,
grown in my garden for the very first time, that is more in the brown/burgundy/wine colours with great touches of deep yellow.
Looking inside this Iris flower
Left: it can be seen two of its three cascading petals called "falls" and two of its 3 beards (centre and left) as well as all the 3 upright petals called "standards", plus one of the 3 central lobes (sort of yellow flames) which host and protect one stamen each.
Right: another detail of this bearded Iris that could not fit in the framing of the left macro. Here, one of its three cascading petals called "falls" and its beard.

lots of complexities...lots of ways...
running is the only way...
across them...avoiding the vicious circles...
to the right destination...
be the only one... keeping the smile...
