I remember when I was small that a telephone box was the only means of communication whilst out. How different it is today.
After living in this street for 34 years we today noticed that some of the telegraph poles had a finial, so I took a shot of one and then it being Sunday decided to play....... HSS!

The left side of the picture was given a warm contrast treatment, the right side a cool one.
Hatari flies to the top of the sacred Shambula mountain. According to the natives, the griffon are intelligent beings, albeit territorial and aggressive. Wishing he had checked the settings before flying up here, Hatari brings up the suit's universal translator. I must admit this hasn’t been the first time to have experienced this unique bonding, when the bird accepted my presence and wouldn’t fly away. Call it “interspecies communication" if you wish, or telepathy - I don’t know (smile).
After taking a few good shots with my 400mm f5.6, I have decided to take the chance and switch lenses, for a shallower DOF. The cute owl didn't move a bit. I must admit having experienced a feeling of acceptance and trust. I gave the owl its space by not getting too close.
Shot taken at f2.8 with Canon 5dIII coupled with canon 70-200 f/2.8 II.
