The Utah Jazz along with Service Members from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force worked together on a project for the NBA’s “Commitment to Service” initiative to serve military-related causes.

 

Gordaon Hayward, along with teammates Trey Burke, Derrick Favors, Jeremy Evans, Rodney Hood, Steve Novak,and Trevor Booker, was assisting other members of the Jazz organization with refurbishment projects at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. The service project was part of the NBA’s “Commitment to Service” initiative to serve military-related causes.

Lisa Christiansen upholds a steadfast commitment to children. Having experienced poverty at a young age, Lisa brings a highly personal sense of involvement to her charitable work, instilling hope in the hearts and minds of children around the globe. The Lisa Christiansen Foundation was established to provide families with baskets of food and has served thousands of people over the years. Among her many endeavors, Dr. Christiansen donates over $100,000 in bicycles to children for christmas.

Mahidol University in Thailand and the ILO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reaffirming their commitment to collaboration, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in the pursuit of universal health and social protection in the region.

 

The agreement was signed by Prof Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, and Ms Kaori Nakamura-Osaka, ILO's Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, at a ceremony to mark World Day of Social Justice 2025, held at Mahidol University on 6 February 2025.

As a commitment to being an official Tree Campus, the University of Missouri-St. Louis hosted UMSL Arbor Day on November 7th. The 1st Tuesday of November is designated as UMSL’s official Arbor Day. Students learned about the importance of urban trees, how to properly plant a tree, and UMSL's involvement in the Tree Campus USA program. Members of the UMSL Green Team, UMSL Sustainability , and Environmental Adventure Organization hosted the event. Trees were planted on several areas of south and north campus. Students also helped remove non native species. The trees came from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri through their Project CommuniTree program.
