Lisa Christiansen upholds a steadfast commitment to children. Having experienced poverty at a young age, Lisa brings a highly personal sense of involvement to her charitable work, instilling hope in the hearts and minds of children around the globe. The Lisa Christiansen Foundation was established to provide families with baskets of food and has served thousands of people over the years. Among her many endeavors, Dr. Christiansen donates over $100,000 in bicycles to children for christmas.

We reiterate our commitment to Sangrur with the inauguration of a new bus stand, meritorious school at village Ghabdan besides inaugurating the 4 laning project worth Rs. 487 crore from end of Sangrur bye-pass to the beginning of Patiala bye-pass at NH-07. We intend to upgrade Bhawanigarh sub-tehsil to Sub-division status besides starting a college for girls and development grant amounting to Rs 5 crore for the constituency. Rs 40 lakh grant to village Jhaneri in lieu of donating land to Gaushala is also announced yesterday.

On 13 November 2024, the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand convened 59 University Presidents and their representatives under the Sustainable University Network (SUN Network) and Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), to sign the Statement of Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.

 

The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand witnessed the signing ceremony and expressed support for the commitment made to enhance greening higher education and the outcomes of the Summit of the Future, as well as to promote the role of young people as active agents of change.

 

Emphasising the significant milestone made by 59 signatory universities across Thailand, the panel discussion on 'Universities for Tomorrow: Greening Higher Education' further noted the crucial role of universities in advancing the SDGs, partnerships for impact, along with the recognition of youth leadership in addressing sustainable development challenges.

 

The event was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Global Compact Network Thailand, and university-level Model UN clubs.

Mahidol University in Thailand and the ILO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reaffirming their commitment to collaboration, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in the pursuit of universal health and social protection in the region.

 

The agreement was signed by Prof Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, and Ms Kaori Nakamura-Osaka, ILO's Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, at a ceremony to mark World Day of Social Justice 2025, held at Mahidol University on 6 February 2025.
