After being stuck behind this late-running train at the road crossing at Maheno, I set sail southwards towards what has become my favourite spot along the Shag Point coast.
Not being sure whether I'd suddenly stop to take a shot en-route, I ended up remaining behind a truck for most of the way and as I pulled off almost half an hour later, I figured I'd have plenty of time to get my act together when the scanner barked into life with 925's Hillgrove radio call.
Hillgrove being only a few miles to the north, I had to sprint into action to effect some mild trespassing over a farm gate with my stilts. And to think that I'd only just been worrying that there might only be another ten minutes of sun...
Clean duo DFB 7241 and DC 4012 are doing a good job keeping the roads clear just north of Shag Point with the Katiki Point lighthouse and Yellow Eyed Penguin colony in the distance. In a few minutes the train will stop at Bushey for a crossing and crew change with 926.

Just to annoy the the purists, I did remove a powerline in the top left corner and a haybale or three. Hardly committing a Burkholder I'm thinkin'
I was a young novice amateur photographer equipped with a Rollei 35, and I wanted to try my hand at photography in the metro. Not daring to photograph this sleeping character in the presence of the other passengers, I waited until they had all got off at the last station on the line. I barely had time to commit my crime when the sound signal announced the closing of the doors. I then ejected from the carriage in extremis, without having had time to shake the shoulder of this poor sleeper who was carried towards the tunnel where the metro turns around to go back in the opposite direction…
J’étais un jeune photographe amateur débutant équipé d’un Rollei 35, et je voulais m’essayer à la photographie dans le métro. N’osant photographier ce personnage endormi en présence des autres voyageurs, j’ai attendu qu’ils soient tous descendus à la dernière station de la ligne. J’ai à peine eu le temps de commettre mon forfait que le signal sonore annonçait la fermeture des portes. Je me suis alors éjecté du wagon in extremis, sans avoir eu le temps de secouer l’épaule de ce pauvre dormeur qui fut emporté vers le tunnel où le métro fait demi-tour pour repartir en sens inverse…

This threat finally materialized in front of me. I refuse to use focus stacking. It's easy to avoid: if the content won't fit within the depth of field available, pick a subject and commit to it. The resulting image may be more interesting and/or impactful as a result.
Stopped on my way home to take some pictures of the Snake River and the bridge into Twin Falls Idaho. I noticed a person on the wrong side of the railing, I looked through my camera and zoomed out to see more closely. I thought he was being stupid, or maybe committing suicide, then he jumped, thank God he had a parachute.
