Exercise Scenario: At 09:00 on Saturday, September 18, 2010, a Bombardier Q400 inbound to land on Runway 4 at Reagan National experiences severe flight control problems for unknown reasons approximately 200 feet prior to the approach end of the runway. The aircraft impacts the water and breaks apart. Parts of the airplane strike three vehicles driving on Thomas Avenue, pushing them into the parking lot south of Runway 4 and creating a debris field. The fuselage bursts into flames as it skids onto the parking area southwest of the runway. Four victims are flung into the Potomac River with multiple victims located in the parking lot. Additional, two airport shuttle buses have collided in the parking lot.

One of the teams assisting the RMRU at the Tram first thing this morning to continue search for a lost woman hiker. Good news is that the hiker, whom is a yearly pass holder and knew the area, was found alive with a broken ankle in the stone shelter that is at the top of San Jacinto Peak. She injured herself on Saturday before the weather turned bad. Unfortunately for her, hurricane force winds and heavy snow prevented searcgh teams from getting to the peak before this morning. Fortunately, she knew where the shelter was and was somewhat

A fire in a San Jose recycling facility went to three alarms, May 2, 2013. The fire got into large bales of cardboard and other recycling material, and presented fire fighters with several challenges. After about 6 hours the fire was under control, although fire crews remained on scene overnight pulling apart bales of cardboard to extinguish all the smoldering debris.
This Chevy Tahoe is used by San Jose as Battalion 1. It was formerly used as the Department Safety Officer (4A8). The signange and the Command Center were added when it was converted into service as Battalion 1.
