Comical postcard with a 1912 postmark, addressed to Rhea Bevier, Albany, Oregon, and signed "Tommy". The car is more like 1906 or 1907. It resembles a Rambler or perhaps a Northern?

I actually didn't clone this. My polaroid took two photos on the same frame. It was really weird, but I'm so glad I found out how to do it. I wasn't even aware it was possible. Someone stole my digital, and I really want to start taking photos again, so I'm sticking to film, but I will start uploading and such. Maybe I'll make a new account. Hmmm.

This shot was taken after a rather comical and not very successful, mating attempt between the goose above and her amorous partner. The shots in the comment, need to be seen in sequence as they tell a story. The male had a little difficulty getting into the right position - but didn't want to give up - his lady friend, however, got rather tired of his advances...

This is a comical shot of some cows with Mt. Hood in the background. Cows are usually very curious creatures, but these were very intent on eating. They could'nt be bothered by a guy with a camera. Near Sandy, Oregon

What a shambles!

On Boxing Day morning I went to see the "spectacle" that is the Albrighton & Woodland Hunt. It was comical to watch.

Not one of the hunt masters actually looked like they wanted to be there. They rode with stern faces and gritted teeth. As soon as they saw the camera they looked away as if they had something to hide.

Maybe their angry faces were because of all the effort that had gone in to putting up crowd control barriers when there was hardly anyone there to actually watch.

The hounds were allowed to do as they pleased whilst in the street. Urinating and fouling all over the church yard. Several were scrounging in litter bins for food, do they not get fed in the kennels?

Owners of small dogs were forced to pick up their pets as the Hounds were harassing them.

Riders were happily drinking shots, one after the other, whilst on horseback whilst some looked and sounded like they had had a skin full already. Some riders were using mobile phones whilst riding.

"Security guards" strolled around in hi vis vests that belonged to construction companies and the terrier men stood around huddled in little groups.

A lady was walking, dressed in hunting attire, round the few spectators rattling a bucket begging for loose change?

One rider, a young girl I believe, lost control of her horse and it threw her off. A bystander commented she had suffered back and neck injuries. A road out of Newport had to be closed by 2 police cars, Air Ambulance attended as did an Ambulance. The hunt rode by uncaringly whilst she lay on the cold, damp road receiving treatment. Not one stopped.

There was one extremely stressed horse that had been left in a box at the rugby club.

On the way out of Newport the hounds were allowed to run on ahead, on the wrong side of the road, on a road with a 60mph limit whilst approaching a blind bend.

Surely this kind of behaviour shouldn't be allowed to go on, let alone the fact they were on their way out to kill foxes....

From watching Buzzards above the moors near Harden Moss to following a heron on the canal with a few comical goats thrown in I didn't have a bad weekend really. The Buzzards seemed to appear out of nowhere as usual, moving fast and flying high they took a bit of tracking. The heron on the other hand took an hour to walk from the other side of the reservoir to a point close to me. it stopped at an awkward angle for me to photograph it without me moving and being seen. It then did a short flight to the canal, I moved and sat on a parapet wall above a deep drop in to a canal lock. The heron skipped over the canal and came so close that I had to lean back as far as I could without actually moving and being seen just to get the bird in the frame. At times I could only get partial shots. It them flew past me, almost brushing me and landed nearby on the towpath. Fortunately on this Saturday evening it was quiet and as it walked along the towpath I shadowed it at a distance, it flew in to the canal and was eventually frightened off by dogs. My arms were killing me I'd been holding the lens and camera in front of me non stop for an hour, fighting the cramp in my left arm. The things we do.

The goats on the wall top were a bit of a distraction as I followed three Buzzards messing around in a field near a farm in the afternoon and I snatched a few shots, the one behind was headbutting the others from behind to make them keep moving, very comical.

I was having a hard time thinking of something to do to illustrate this theme; no funny pets or endearing kids/grandkids to snap. Then I made the mistake of noticing this 'fake' baseball on hubby's desk. All I could think of was the classic sketch "Who's On First?" So, there's where my mind is going with this...

Meerkats may look like prairie dogs, are really related to the mongoose. These comical creatures are inquisitive and alert at all times, you see them busily digging in the dirt looking for insects, making underground burrows.

These little carnivores live and work together in a group called a gang or a mob, helping each other to care for youngsters or keep a lookout for danger. If trouble is spotted, the lookout alerts the others and they all dash back into the burrows for safety. Fun to watch! :)

The Meerkat (aka: Suricate) is a small species of foraging mammal found inhabiting harsh open conditions in the semi-desert plains in southern Africa.

A member of the Mongoose family, Meerkats differ from Mongoose species in a number of ways with the biggest difference being that Meerkats are incredibly sociable animals, where most Mongooses are not.
