Another piece for my comic anthology zine, "Hollow Round of Skull". This illustration accompanies a story which my husband wrote about a furniture salesman with a rather, uh, "unique" philosophy on life.
I did the pencils, but my husband did the inks and then he shaded it on the computer. Kind of a neat collaboration, I think. I can see subtle differences between the way he inked it and how I would've done it, so it kind of takes on a new personality of it's own.

Comic-Con International: San Diego 2011
San Diego Comic-Con International, also known as Comic-Con International: San Diego, and commonly known as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con, was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention and later the San Diego Comic Book Convention in 1970 by Shel Dorf and a group of San Diegans.
It is traditionally a four-day event (Thursday through Sunday — though a four-hour preview night on Wednesday is open to professionals, exhibitors, and some guests pre-registered for all four days) held during the summer in San Diego, California, United States, at the San Diego Convention Center. Comic-Con is both the name of the annual event and the common name of the organization.

Found another 'comic strip trail.' Thirty walls are covered with comic strip characters that are larger than in life in every sense and portrayed in the most comical situations.

The name says it all. It's a comic and pop culture festival, packed with comic c...ompetition (Comic Character Battle, Comic Strip Competition), 15 local comic artists, comic market, cosplay, band performance, test drive Toyota Yaris, custom comic design Yaris, etc...
It was a two days fest, and I went to both. Met lots of old and new friends there, as well as my fellow Kompas Gramedia friends. The fun was almost never end :)
I had the (unpaid) job of scanning magazines and comics for auction on ebay for the family business (the_genies_cave). I soon realised that they were quite arty and I thought that they might have a wider interest. Further, I discovered Flickr groups dedicated to comics! I don't know much about comics but I hope you enjoy the colourful nature and design.
