Case Combine dumping corn into grain truck

When I was a kid growing up in east Central Illinois, my two big interests were farm equipment and trains. In September of 2010 I was fortunate enough to get the ultimate "combo" shot as 66A's trio of matching GP60's passed a Case IH 7088 combine taking a short break near the track. The three high horsepower Geeps are headed west to Naples to grab a 62 car pig iron train and take it back to Decatur.

I love me some micro builds. Built this one a couple of years ago to go with Kristal's micro scale English Village, but just now got around to taking photos.

This kind natured farmer caught us taking photos of his combine harvester and offered a ride in the cab!

An opportunity not to be missed.....I just wish I hadn't panicked and got so over-excited!

A combine harvester working near to where I live , The dust was amazing as we have not had rain for what seems like weeks now . To think my father in law used to drive one of these in the days before they had an enclosed cab complete with air con.

The lazy and poor guy’s diorama :D

I lack the desire, money, skills, space and time to create a miniature diorama...

What to do? Use flickr photos as the backdrop!

This is the image I found... apparently it is actually in the Whampoa Garden (a private housing estate) neighbouhood in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

A huge Claas Lexion 570 combine harvester does its thing in the Staffordshire wheat fields around Elford and Portway on a warm and breezy Wednesday evening on the 1st August 2018.

Large dust clouds are spewed from the Combine - (no good if youre a hayfever sufferer!) partly obsuring the view of a DB class 66 waiting patiently at the head of Elford loop for a road West.

The 66 was working 6G45 16:53 Toton North Yard to Bescot Up Engineers Sdgs.

It left approximately 2 hours later, after I'd given up on it moving. Good job really!

A short lived dry spell and the sun peeping through the clouds at sunset. F14.0 to burst the sun. Handheld for a couple of shots to blend. Not recommended...tripod makes it much easier but had to compose on the flip screen above my head as the sun was sinking too fast for me.
