Porto Boavista, 1970. Metre-gauge E53 (Kessler, 1890) was nicknamed Santa Comba. ME21 was a railcar lorry built in1944 in Sernada do Vouga from a truck. It was nicknamed Peixeira (fish seller) as it used to carry fresh goods, including fish, from Aveiro and Espinho to the villages along the Vouga network. It was powered by a gasogen.

The Mayotte maki, also called ankoumba in kibouchi (Malagasy of Mayotte) or comba in shimaore, is a lemurate primate considered as a variety of the tawny lemur ("eulemur fulvus") from Madagascar, or as one of its subspecies ("eulemur fulvus mayottensis", Schlegel, 1866). It lives on the islands of Mayotte and Anjouan in the Comoros archipelago, where it is said to have been introduced by humans from Madagascar.

A rainy day of ball. We were all huddled under a tent and I saw these two under their umbrella with all their gear. What we do to watch our kids play sports!
Meter-gauge E53, nicknamed Santa Comba, was built by Kessler in 1889. The 6 locomotives of this lot (E51-E56) were first introduced in the Dão line in 1890. E53 was left rotting at Porto Boavista:

It might be haunted.
We had a nice chat with a tenant of the building who extolled the high ceilings and pleasant living space of his apartment but also happened to mention that going to the basement of the building was a little unnerving. No wonder, for according to a fascinating blog post by Linda Knight Seccaspina about the building's history, it had been used by a series of funeral directors in the distant past. You can read about the history of the "scariest building in Carleton Place" here:

E101 was made by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen in 1907. Originally nicknamed as “Soares Velloso". It has been restored and is exposed at the Lousado section of the Portuguese Railway Museum.
Santa Comba Dão connected the metre-gauge Dão line with the Iberian-gauge Beira Alta line. E101 here ready to depart to Viseu, the other terminal station of the Dão line.
