Probably the best known view of Cologne, with the Cathedral and the Hohenzollern railway bridge. A classic, but I wanted to have my own version of this photo as well.
Several bridges cross the Rhine in Cologne. They are (from South to North): the Cologne Rodenkirchen Bridge, South Bridge (railway), Severin Bridge, Deutz Bridge, Hohenzollern Bridge (railway), Zoo Bridge (Zoobrücke) and Cologne Mülheim Bridge. There is no WIkipedia entry for the Severin Bridge.

Cologne Cathedral is a masterpiece of gothic architecture. Started in 1248, the cathedral was finally completed to its original plan in 1880. Standing 157m in height, it is the tallest twin-spired church in the world and the third tallest church of any kind.
The cathedral houses many notable treasured and works of art. The most celebrated work in the cathedral is the Shrine of the Three Kings, traditionally believed to hold the remains of the three wise men.
In 1996, the cathedral was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List of culturally important sites.
The view is from the roof terrace of the nearby Ludwig museum.
