I made this soap as a request from my brother. He needed a soap for oily skin and healing properties so this is the result. I created a recipe with bergamot essential oil, tea tree essential oil, and sweet orange essential oil. It has a very light, citrusy scent with no artificial ingredients.
The soap was made using the same recipe and method as the first batch. However, I added cinnamon as a colorant. I think the result is nice - some of the pieces are marbled, but all of the pieces have a great brown color.
I used a $2 stick blender I got from a thrift shop to help with the stirring. I think that is also the explanation for some the bubbles that can be seen.
I used a shoebox lined with a shopping bag for the mold. The result was firm, but it was easy to cut and held its shape.
Named after a dry and hot wind in Morocco; this creation is a magical journey of honey, musk, incense, tobacco leaf, hay sugar, amber, iris, rose and sandalwood. A gently cleansing soap bar that will leave your skin with a light fragrance.
I played with these new letter stamps on some bars of soap. This bar is Oatmeal, Milk and Honey, which explains the 'omh'. I can't decide if I should stamp the soaps with the letters or not... what do you think? I also wrap each bar in a sleeve with all of the necessary information. Any suggestions?
Decided to try my hand at making soap (ok, I got the idea in my head a few weeks ago and have been obsessing about it since). This is my first batch ever! Fingers crossed it turns out ok. It's currently sitting wrapped in a towel on the counter. I'll be able to unmold it in a day or two! Woooo!
The soap is in Gel Stage now! Wooooo! I was a bit concerned because it hadn't gone to gel, but I decided to have a little peek and did a happy dance!
Basil Nectarine is juicy notes of ripe nectarines blended perfectly with leaves of the freshest basil. It's fruity, herbal and irresistibly inviting! More on the Basil side.

This is our first attempt at basic castile soap since our first soap. This turned out pretty good. It doesn't have the same smell as the original (ugly) batch. It is made with Olive Oil, vegetable shortening, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide and water. There are no additives for color or scent.
One thing we learned with this batch is that you can't line your soap mold with brown paper. When you do this the paper becomes one with the soap. It was a mess trying to get all the paper off. I used a steam iron to blow steam on the soap to melt it enough to be able to pull the paper off.
