It might be bringing work to the region but Colas Tug 60096 gets a distinctively half-hearted welcome from passengers on platform 2 at Wrexham General, as it competes for their attention with an arriving Holyhead train. In fact the snapper seems to be getting more looks than the colourful Tug.
The working is of course the 11.59 Carlisle Yard - Chirk Kronospan logs (6J37), and the passenger train is Arriva Train Wales' 15.09 Birmingham International - Holyhead (1D15) service.
For aficionados, the station is a delight - vibrant, with a reasonably well maintained GWR infrastructure, and a platform cafe for those in need of refreshment.

Almost catching me unawares munching a corned beef and mustard sandwich, Colas Tug 60076 steadies the early running 08.55 Preston Docks Lanfina - Lindsey tanks (6E32) down the grade through Cornholme on a wintry 19th January 2015.
The splendid building at left is Frosthulme Mill - still in use albeit not for its original purpose. Plenty of snow in the field from which I took this - so much in fact there was a skier practicing her moves.
56105 and 56087 having made a quick reverse at Severn Tunnel run back through a deserted Caldicot station working 3S33 11:08 Cheltenham Lansdown Loop to Gloucester Horton Road.

From a trip to Washington State. These classic glass Coca Cola bottles caught my eye; especially with Seattle printed on them.
