I discovered that today I have collected 4 pretty epic coins. A Robert Burns £2, a Girl Guides 50P, and two Olympic 50P's (Rowing and boxing)!! I may end up a coin collector, well that is a different hobby. The snow keeps falling which means that the plans for tomorrow (my day off) constantly keep changing. So tomorrow may be an adventure, like today. Today was an adventure, due to me wanting maltesers, we went to three vending machines and two cafeterias .. I had to settle for galaxy in the end. Oh chocolate!! <3

Stamped legend weak, hard to read. Distinguished Higher School Singing 1907 legible, above hard to read.

The legend of Saint George

George, a Roman officer, has just crossed Trebizond, a land terrorized by a dragon demanding a daily tribute of young people to devour. As fate would have it, the victim chosen that day is the princess. George joins battle with the beast, runs it through with his lance, and frees her. George, a completely fictitious figure, became the patron saint of knights. Worship of the saint spread, particularly in Europe, after the first Crusades.

This Royal Mint silver coin commemorates the story of St. George and the Dragon. On the reverse of the coin, it is featuring the classic design of St. George on horseback, about to strike the dragon. The coin’s year of issue, weight, metal content and purity. The obverse features a profile rendering of Elizabeth II, also Elizabeth II regal title, as well as the coin’s unique denominational value.

Macro shot of a 125 year old U.S. nickel in rather fine shape.

This 1938 version is quite rare due to the grapes privy mark on the reverse and deep hair lines on the obverse. According to Numista it has a frequency of only 3%.
