Can you name these rulers ?

A Macro Mondays submission on the title "Currency". This is a selection of coins accumulated from a number of different countries while travelling.

Some older Spanish money including a 500 peseta coin featuring Spain's former King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia.

Coin Caves are located in S. Mamede, in Batalha county, just 2 km from Fátima. Its discovery came in 1971 by two hunters who were chasing a fox. Moved by curiosity they went running through the interior of a cave and became aware of its natural beauty, with numerous galleries full of limestone formations.

In my student days, I had a holiday job as barmaid in Redcar. Clients used to ask us for the empty Dimple Haig bottles because the mouth was just the right size for sixpences. And recently I discovered that Swiss half-franc coins fit in nicely too. I don't have very many in my collection, yet.

This is for Macro Mondays, In a Bottle.

I stood it on the tin the gin came in.

MM challenge: Royal

Challenge coins have existed in the military since World War I and the traditions, rules, and etiquette surrounding them came from the military. These rules and traditions are incredibly important to military challenge coin holders.

Giving the coin has some sort of positive meaning behind it. Maybe they want to thank you for something you've done for them. Maybe they want you to remember them. Whatever the reason, treat it with respect because it is a token of appreciation.

Thank you for mine, Doug.

Some Silver Coins...

Some of them are more than 100 years old...

The Australian War Memorial, Canberra

These are crowns, they were regularly minted in the nineteenth century and worth five shillings (equivalent to about £25 today). Nowadays they are only minted to commemorate special occasions. These are all post decimal coins and have a face value of twenty-five pence each. Formerly one was able to get them from banks at face value and I have spent them in shops – they usually created some interest as they are handsome coins 1½ inches across.

However, the value of the newer ones has been increased to five pounds and they are now only available in special packs at well above face value 😟

The Macro Mondays group has chosen Currency today.

I couldn't resist taking this one home :o) was looking for a coin purse in Harrods and came home with this one.It is the cutest one of LV.The logo reminds me of Tintin.

When I was processing images for the Macro Monday "Motion Blur" challenge I found this. It looks like I rolled the coin and captured the image. In fact I spun the coin. If the eagle had been facing right side up, I would have chosen this image.

The image is about 7 cm (2.75 inches) on the long edge.
