One of the diesel engines (foreground) and the steam engine (background). The steam takes 1 ton of coal and 1000 gallons of steam for one trip, while the diesel uses 18 gallons of biodiesel to do the same. The steam engine is tilted so that it will be level on the climb.

Day three. The cog railway terminal was right opposite my hotel so I had to go on it. It is a bit like a cross between a normal railway and a funicular and winds its way through middle-class suburbs up to Széchenyi-hegy, one of the hills to the west of Buda.
