Old Coffee mill ( grinder) 1930s photo taken today. In old westerns from the late 1800 you can see cowboys with a coffee mill tied to their saddle packs.
Almost the same as the photo that I uploaded yesterday but a slightly different angle. I wasn't sure which one I prefer so have posted them both!
I took a photo like this a couple of months ago and was rather pleased with it (here: www.flickr.com/photos/crutchleyrhodes/34394559416/in/albu... ) so when my husband bought himself a percolator (he's a bit of a coffee addict!) I couldn't resist setting up another still life scene!

We spent a couple of days up in Ludlow, Vermont, and you can't spend time in that area without visiting the Vermont General Store in Weston! If ever in the area, and you want to kill an hour, or more, I highly recommend a visit! With so much to see (and photograph if you are so inclined) you will not be disappointed, I promise! Everything from penny candies to kitchen utensils, and hats and shirts to neat old toys. Local cheeses and other treats too, and there's stuff everywhere and in a great and pretty large post and beam store. And there's a nice old Advanced Design Chevy pickup outside full of flowers in the bed. The place is a winner...and I took a bunch of shots with many more to be posted. I hope you'll enjoy them!

A few months ago I started experimenting with some table-top still life photography and really enjoyed it. The problem is that I'm not the most imaginative person in the world so couldn't think of anything else to take a photo of until my husband bought some coffee beans!

It’s my day at We’re Here!
That means that I pick the theme and the group we visit. Today is The Mechanical Age
You would think that when I get to pick, then I would have some Explore-worthy shot in mind, and go in search of a group to accommodate my fantasy. But, no, I am never smart enough to remember to do that. Instead, I always stumble across a site that looks interesting or fun and then find myself scrambling for a subject just like every other day. Sigh.
Until yesterday I thought I was going to drive over to one of my favorite places – Mare Island Naval Shipyard. It’s a WWII-era site which the US Navy closed 20 years ago. I could go on for pages about the fascinating history and the buildings and objects to be seen there, but suffice it to say that a photographer is free to roam around and capture peeling paint and rusting metal to his or her heart’s content. Unfortunately, at the last minute my job requires me to be somewhere else stuck in a conference room until late this evening, so I got up early to work on this in the kitchen. But I also decided to dig around in my archives and find a couple of old shots from Mare Island I have never posted, and add those to the group as well. One is in the 1st comment box below.
