Perfect way to start the day. I took this for the Simply bokeh group- hot drink bokeh contest. HBW #2... because I'm an addict and who doesn't love bokeh?
Also my secret #9: I have a birthmark on my left hand... it's always been there. Doctors used to tell my mom to have it removed before it caused problems. It's slightly raised but mostly looks like a bunch of freckles on my hand in a cluster. Funny thing is my dad has the exact shaped scar in the exact spot on his hand that I have my birthmark.

The cafe bakes everything in house and the coffees are top drawer.
Of all the things that have occurred in the past month or so and around the world, nothing obviously can compare to the controversy of the Starbucks red cup. (Said with the most heart felt sarcasm possible.) Does anyone really care about what colour the cup is or about the absence of something cheerful and Christmassy 'not' written on it? I really don't, truly, I don't, but if we were to write 'our own story' on the plain red cup, why were we not given a marker, a gold or silver one, with every cup? That, I may have cared about...I could have used the marker to sign photos, address my very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday cards...but NO!!...instead, I kept the plain red cup, brought home the plain red cup, so I could mock the plain red cup, and in the spirit of the season, not give a damn about the plain red cup. Oh, humbug, now I feel sorry for the poor little plain red cup....it deserves to be used, it's not its fault....
My daughter Allison had her first gig at the Generator Coffee House last night. That's her just inside the window playing the piano. She sang mostly Christmas songs which the crowd seem to enjoy. She performed for over 2 hours and did great. More importantly, Allison has been asked to come back in the near future. Her dad was more than happy to play "roadie" for the evening.

haha i'll do some explaining.
the dining hall at school "proudly serves starbucks coffee," so i am paying like 39 cents, not wasting money on crazy starbucks drinks every day.
sriracha sauce is good on everything. mac n cheese. mmmmm.
the coffee mugs are both ones i got from my grandma's house. as well as the ring right above my phone.
i use straws with coffee so it doesn't stain my teeth.
