I'm proud to introduce you to my latest and greatest M.O.C. The all new never before seen LEGO Coffee Table Foosball Table! That's right! The soccer set we actually wanted! Entertain your AFOL friends at your next LUG meeting and challenge them to a game. Battle it out and claim victory for your custom minifig team. All LEGO fans will love the LEGO Coffee Table Foosball Table. It fits any theme, as long as you have the minifigs. And for all you Steampunk Lovers out there it comes in an authentic "faux" oak woodgrain finish.
Inspiration from this came from what is now my favorite cartoon, Phineas & Ferb. There was an episode where they hung their sister and friends on a life size foosball rack. I had to take my monkey apart for the bricks. It still needs a little tweeking as far as the push rods go. I've been able to arrange them where they'll cover most of the field. Also I need a tighter connection on the minifig's. If you give them the 'ol around the world spin they tend to fly off. And yay for me for finding a practical use for those stupid soccer goalie handles. : ) And yay for you if you read all this!
I decided on something that could work both in the meantime and after it's refinished. The art panels will be removable so I can pull them and the glass protecting them when it comes time to strip the paint and restain the whole table.
At first the table reminded me of an odd sort of mission-style because of the slat panels. Then I thought of shoji screens and the sakura idea hit me. I am going to create the design (mixed media) on foam core then seal it.
More stash busting. I don't have a huge yarn stash, but it is bigger than I would like it to be. My goal lately has been to choose projects based on the yarn I already have. So far, it has been working out great (and saving me money too!).

Ellie found her stickers from the CBeebies book and decided to decorate the coffee table.
I thought it looked quite artistic :)
This is what happens when you melt aluminum...
throw in a little ceramic powder and then blast it with air.
It's an incredible material we call 'Stabilized Aluminum Foam.'
It looks like it's from another planet doesn't it?
That's why it's becoming a coffee table for my crib.
A two inch think piece for the top cut four feet square...
with two waterjet cut arches for legs...
an arched stringer and a half inch thick top floating above it with some aluminum edging so the ladies don't snag their dresses.
It's beggin' for some internal lighting but that might just be too over the top.
I hope your shortened work week's 'over the top' whichoo feelin' the love!

GONE--This lovely coffee table from France is a pre-owned piece, not brand new but not old. It is solid wood--either maple or ash we think, except for the loom-like weave of threads at the lower level, which is meant to hold magazines and books. The details of the legs are really fun and very much mid-century in style--the table top appears to float atop the arched legs, which do not touch it.

Plaster Black Bear - Glass top table
Perfect coffee table height. Great condition.
Bear holds up glass top with paws (small rubber disks protect the glass. Glass and Bear separate for easy moving or cleaning.
Bear is plaster with a dark black burnished finish. Very sturdy, but probably better for adults?

If I were to make a photo book for my trip, the cover might look like this
Oh yeah, large format glossy, hardback and dust jacket.
