The Atomos Ninja 2 touchscreen interface. Clean and intuitive. THe Ninja 2 facilitates export of clean HD video directly from the D800 sensor, recording output that's encoded with either Apple ProRes 422, 422 HQ, or Avid DNxHD codecs to HDD or SSD drives (you decide how you want to load the drive enclosures.
I went with SDDs. Vibration resistant and lower power draw.
For the past 2 days I have been testing my new Nikon P1000 camera out in my yard and neighborhood. I am very impressed. You have to haul a 3.5 lb camera and a hefty tripod. I used my Manfrotto 3130 tripod with a fluid head that weighs 8 lbs for telephoto shots. The fluid head facilitates video pans, but even it drifted down while shooting at far out lengths such as 3000 mm indicating a need for counter weights such as sand bags or a heavier duty tripod. You also have to use a remote control for shutter depressions and controlling the camera. I purchased a Nikon ML-L7 remote which did the job very well.
The Coolpix P1000 does not use .nef for raw files. It uses .nrw format. I could not use Adobe PS CS6 to read these files. I started saving files in both raw and jpg formats instead of raw exclusively as I do on my Nikon DLSR camera. I had to download Nikon Capture NX-D which came with Nikon Picture Control and Nikon Transfer 2 which I have not tested yet. I Downloaded and installed a Nikon NRW codec. I could not see NRW files in Photoshop CS6, Adobe Bridge CS6 or View NX V2. But I could see them in Capture NX-D, Windows photos, Win Explorer, Win movie Maker, Photo Gallery and Win Photo Viewer.
It pays to purchase a 77 mm clear filter cover because the possibility of scratching the huge lens looms very high.
The Jpg image size is stored in a 12:9 ratio. My other Nikon cameras are sized in a12:8 ratio. Also many functions are accessed by menu rather than buttons common on Nikon DLSR’s.
I have not tested the bird or moon modes on the P1000 yet, but they look promising on paper.
All in all I am very pleased with the Nikon P1000 and look forward to having a lot of fun with it, especially for birding.

A small sample of my photos on Flickr. Because of the 150meg and 90 sec restriction i have edited the music down to fit the limit. Normal video rendering i use AVI High quality codec this file is just over 1GB. However this example has been converted to mpeg2, the file size is 52mb.
Approx 10 mins to put this video together. Considering the compressed file size it turned out okay. Certainly a lot better in HD format and on a big screen.
Depending on your Broadband speed you may want to let the video load up first.

La ville fut reconstruite dans le style des rares immeubles restant. Gien est relevé de ses ruines et le nouvel ensemble harmonieux est appelé « Joyau de la Reconstruction française ». Dans un deuxième temps est abordé le chapitre de la construction des cités et des grands ensembles, de l’architecture du renouveau qualifiée de "grandiose incontestablement". Star guest of this years Severn Valley Railway's 'Spring Steam Gala', ex-GWR/BR Castle no. '4079, Pendennis Castle', was specially rostered to operate the 'Timetable B' steam services on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of April just before it would be transported via road to the Mid Hants Railways in Hampshire for their steam gala the following weekend.
This video features extensive 'Windowside' coverage of the locomotive working trains on Saturday. This is also the debut of my new Panasonic VX1 camcorder, which will be the primary camcorder for visits such as these from here on.
Overall, a nice day out and some decent performances from 'Pendennis Castle'.

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus Leucocephalus), derives it's name from the Greek for 'Sea eagle', and the 'bald' denotation actually derives from an older meaning of 'white headed'.Bald Eagles can be up to forty inches in length with a wingspan up to seven and a half feet and can weigh up to 6.3kgs. The females are generally 25% larger than the males.

This is my lil sis Samm i just bought this camera brand new Yesterday so i was anxious to try it out! and grabbed her and took out side our house to take a quick shot lol i guess some of the neighbors were spooked to see these lights goin off so we got the cops called on us hahaha but i just told em im tryin out my new camera and that i live right here and he said oh its really no big deal just gotta drive by to make sure it aint anything sketchy lol so then we wrapped it up. the bad side was when i got home my computer wasnt reading the new t2i codec so non of my photos could be processed on photoshop. after an our of a panic attack i settled down and looked for any leads to figure this out. which in the end lead to me completely upgrading my entire cs4 creative suit to recognize the new codecs that come with the new DSLRs so problem averted and now im stoked to get used to this camera and its HD video feature!
